Have you ever looked a tiger in the eye? Felt the whole-body impact of lions roaring? Watched wolves romp through the woods? These and other once-in-a-lifetime experiences are possible at the Conservators' Center, a wildlife conservancy for more than 80 animals.

An "oofing" at the Conservators' Center is an experience you'll have to feel to believe. It's the earth-shaking sound our lion prides make when they roar to one another. Our guides call to them on every tour, and you may have the opportunity to hear them from as close as 5 feet away! You'll also get up close and personal with tigers, leopards, wolves, lemurs, binturongs, and other exotic species. We receive no state or federal funding to transport or house our animals. Tours, adoptions, memberships, and other donations support our work, so every visit from you helps us help them.

Tours are held every weekend as well as some holidays. We have private experiences and field trips during the week. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED!

I have lived in North Carolina my entire life & have never heard of this place... It was so great to see these beautiful animals so well loved & thriving! The tour was the perfect amount of time & animals were playful! Can't wait to do a twilight tour!

We've been here a couple times now, and it's been great every time! Everyone is so committed to the mission of the center, and knowledgeable about the animals, and open to questions of all kinds. Hot days plan to come either morning or evening so the animals are more active. Worth every penny! (they should really charge more for the... More

The Conservators Center is definitely worth the money. Between the Lions, tigers, and Wolf's i don't know which is my favorite. It is a great group / family event. Not good for little children though, the tours take to long and would definitely be a lot for young children.

The areas best kept secret for sure! You are so close to all the animals and the tour guides are the BEST! They give you information on the facility and tons of information on the animals. They even make call nioses to get the animals "talking" to one another. There's also an option for those who can't walk it. You... More

We did the twilight tour, and had a wonderful time. Saw tons of animals, including the ocelot, serval, caracal, and lemurs. Our guide was smart and funny. Can't recommend the place enough!

We really enjoyed the Toys & Treats tour, the animals were awake and ready to participate. Totally worth a trip, great videos and pictures up close of exotic animals. The guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and welcomed all the questions from the group. We would definitely do another tour and are planning to visit again in the winter time when it... More

This is a great place to experience a lot of animals more up close than you would at the zoo. Most of the animals have great stories and and guides are very knowledgeable about each animal. If you want a chance at a smaller environment with BIG CATS this is the place. You can do the whole tour in about... More

I have never learned so much about animals and I'm in my 70's. This is not a zoo. This is a wild-life refuge. Groups of 6-10 people go with a trained guide who educated you about the animals. He/she has flexibility to change up the tour depending on what the animals are doing at the time. You will see animals... More

We had reservations for the Saturday evening tour for the two of us and one of our grandsons (age 15). We found it very interesting and enjoyable. Our grandson especially liked it. The guide, Shawn, was very knowledgeable and if he couldn't answer a question, he wouldn't try to make up something that sounded right. He would tell you he... More
