Brevard Music Center is, at once, a place, a summer institute, and a festival.

The Music Center is situated on a wooded 180-acre campus in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina. Founded in 1936, the Music Center has matured into one of this country's premier summer training programs and festivals. More than 400 gifted students, ages 14 through post-college, come to the Music Center to study with members of a distinguished artist faculty and with renowned guest artists. For seven weeks, students participate in a vigorous program of instruction that includes ensembles, private lessons, and chamber music.

Brevard's hallmark is the powerful sense of community that re-emerges every June, as faculty and students work together to present more than 80 concerts to the public. The total audience each summer numbers more than 30,000.

For decades the Brevard Music Center has inspired devotion not only among its students and faculty but also among its listeners and among a vast corps of volunteers. That hundreds of persons have purchased homes in western North Carolina expressly to be near the Brevard Music Center gives some measure of the Center's significance to its community.

Attended concerts there in summer months!OUTSTANDING! Every type I have musical entertainment you could wish for was offered their night after night. Sometimes classical. Sometimes jazz. Sometimes musical comedy or opera. I live theater lovers paradise! Would recommend it to any one who loves seeing live theater and concerts. It doesn't get better than this.

We purchased advanced tickets and enjoyed the entire weekend! Bands were awesome, including the intermission entertainment!! Really grateful for the covered seating, as the weather was unseasonably hot this year! Vendors were excellent, and reasonably priced. It was great we could bring in our own water , soft drink and chairs. Volunteers made the parking and exiting easy! We will... More

Our little town of Brevard is know internationally for it's music scene each summer, and this is the place that it happens. Hopefully if you visit us for a concert or two, you'll enjoy it here. Great acoustics and the perfect size for the artists to perform. You won't miss a beat!!

We were fortunate enough to return to the Brevard Music Center for Alumni Week festivities and concerts as part of their 80th Anniversary Season. There is something absolutely entrancing about this idyllic place. Tucked into the mountains of Transylvania County, NC, BMC offers incredible training to two divisions of students: high school and college. Walking around the beautiful grounds during... More

The Brevard Music Festival offers concerts that will appeal to all ages. Indoors, there is opera, chamber music, etc--but the real treat is the Pfohl-Whittington concert venue, which is completely open to the out of doors on both sides of the audience. You can bring our own lawn chair (and a picnic) for $15 per person, or you can buy... More

Attended the 4th of July POPS concert. As always, it was moving & entertaining. they've spent a lot of time money & effort to upgrade the venue and it was well worth it. Have attended this concert several times and it never disappoints. The performers are talented musicians, the conductor is excellent and the tribute to our military is inspiring.... More

This is our first summer in the area and our first opportunity to attend the summer festival at BMC. We attended the Bela Fleck/Abigail Washburn concert a few nights ago. Wow - what an introduction to the festival and BMC! We purchased lawn tickets to enjoy a picnic before the concert. It was a perfect evening with world class musicians... More

We just saw a performance of Bela Fleck with the Brevard Music Festival Orchestra and it was terrific. However this revue is about the venue. The Brevard Music Center is wonderful place to see any musical performance - located in a picturesque setting and open on two sides. The seats are comfortable with plenty of leg room. Lawn seating is... More
