What a great day! I was a little concerned when I saw drizzle, cloudy skies, and 68 degree temperature on the High Mountain Expedition sign. After a warm welcome from the staff, I knew we would have fun rain or shine. The bus ride was fine for us, but if you have children that get car sick easily...medicate them. I... More

This is our third year tubing and our third (and best yet!) different rafting/tubing company. From start to finish, HME was terrific to work with. When I made a mistake on the date and had to switch reservations with only a week's notice, the guy on the phone handled it with no problem. When 2 of our party had to... More

Great times with great friends. Our guides were lots of fun. River was awesome. We got to surf some waves. We had the amazing treat of a bald eagle flying along the river. This trip was with 3 friends but definitely plan to come back with the kids.

We signed up for the full day and ran the Nolichucky River. River level was pretty good so we got through class III's and IV's almost effortlessly, of course, thanks to our guide. Enough rock protrusions to make the course interesting. Be prepared to get thrown out of the raft at the least expected places! They didn't offer photo /... More

Great weekend of white water rafting! I've been canoeing and tubing, but this was my first white water trip. We went with a large group of families and we all had a Blast! I don't always do well going around mountains, but this trip, there were no problems. Wasn't a big fan of the bus trip to get to the... More

Great time tubing on the new river. Very peaceful and beautiful setting. 3 hours without our kids using cell phones. Best thing ever. Will do again.

We took five grandchildren ages 5-12 and had a great time. Our guide Jesse made the experience special for each of the children. Lunch was very good, especially having PB and J for kids. Would recommend this trip. Only down side was long bus ride to get to the river.

We went with a group of 10 adults for tubing on last Saturday. It was a crowded sunny day. There were at least 4 other groups there, probably 60 people for the 10 am slot. The staff grouped us together and got us out on the water quickly. I was impressed with their good organization. The sign up online was... More

Chose HME because of good reviews and they seemed to know their stuff. Two full busses drove curvy roads for and hour , had sandwiches, then floated for about 1.5 hours. Too many people and too much time Next time I would choose smaller company with shorter drive time!! When it was time to drive back one bus broke so... More

Thank you so much for a great Thursday! Every one of the guides were so relaxed and had fun with all the group. Long bus ride but they had a good lunch waiting for us before hitting the river. Very informative of what to expect and what we needed to do. Loved the water guns and the bucket is a... More
