Really nice, varied, 5 mile loop Boone North Fork Trail which leaves directly from the parking lot. Very well signed with 0.5 mile markers and orange blazes. Follows creek with some nice rapids and small falls through forests of rhododendrons. No mountain views, but good forest / stream variety.

Julian Price Park, Lake and Campground is all right there together on the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway. We went hiking with the dog on the trail around the lake. People were canoeing and having fun in the summer heat on this cool day in the mountains. I enjoyed driving through the camping areas and want to make plans to return... More

I have been doing the Boone Fork Trail for over 20 years and cannot recommend it enough. It is a 5 mile hike- but pack a lunch and make it the adventure for the day. My son, who is 9, did it last summer... He did begin to complain half way through- but wanted to go back and do it... More

My family and I rented a kayak and 2 canoes for a few hours of fun on this peaceful lake. There is a hiking trail that surrounds the lake but we did not go on it. Seems like it would be very nice and shady though. The rental staff were nice and helpful. This was a nice activity to enjoy... More

The five mile Julian Price loop trail is my favorite hike of all times. We hike it at least once every time we go there. It has a sream with waterfalls and places to stop and have a snack on the rocks. Farther on you are hiking through a meadow. It can be a little strenuous but the loop means... More

We came across this place traveling on the blue ridge parkway. The views of the lake and mountains are gorgeous. We didn't stay here but looked like they had a place for camping and rv stay. Lots of people were out in the lake enjoying themselves.

Julian Price has several turn offs - 1) the 5-mile loop trail (we only stopped for a few minutes as we ran out of time but even the streams off the parking lot were fun for our children; 2) camping - which we didn't do; 3) the lake where we rented a canoe and kayak. We spent an hour paddling... More

What a wonderful place. The kids loved climbing on the rocks and playing in the water. The full hike is a 5 mile loop, but we only walked the mile and a half to the rocks and back. The hike is level most of the way, just watch where you're stepping because there are plenty of tree roots that pose... More

Our son really enjoys wading in creeks now, so we came here. There are several places to picnic and wade in the creek and we enjoyed the cool water! It was a bit crowded since it was July 4th weekend but there was still plenty of room to spread out. Great place for families and small children!

With my husband and son working in Blowing Rock, our family spends a lot of time in this park in order to spend quality time together.
