This was such an awesome laid back, casual, and cozy atmosphere. We had gone to Sierra Nevada Brewery the day before and this was a nice change of pace because it was a smaller level, less people, but still had amazing beers on tap. It's an organic microbrewery and I tried multiple beers including the Nitro Stout, Oktoberfest, and their IPA and they were all VERY delicious. There was a food truck that was there every Saturday and had any type of sausage from elk to regular brats. You can get any toppings on the dogs as you could want. I had the brat dog with coleslaw and then a side of the fried pickles. It was so tasty! It's is also a great atmosphere for friends: they have an inside bar with a stage and an outside area with picnic tables and a fire pit. They also have cornhole to play for free! Awesome experience. Would definitely recommend if in Black Mountain, NC!

Nice bartenders are a rare breed - Pisgah Brewing has a collection of them though! We went for a concert, so the bar was packed - the workers were still friendly the entire time :)
There is an impressive stage out back, the sun sets behind the stage adding to the charm.
Oh, they have FREE WATER (from a keg tap to the right of the bar)! I really appreciated that they care enough about their customers/event attendees to offer this instead of over charging for bottled water

We go to several events a year Pisgah Brewing and always have a great time. We usually get the VIP parking and seating, but this time we did not. Parking was easy and convenient without the VIP, but we did miss having a lightly populated area close to the stage with designated portapotties. A big area in front of the stage was available for dancing; behind that area you can sit in a folding chair or on a blanket. Even with people in front standing and dancing, you can see the stage easily. Sound quality is surprisingly good. In addition to Pisgah beers and "bar food", there were several food trucks offering Peruvian fusion, creole / southern, hot dogs and sausages, BBQ and other items. It's kid-friendly and fun to watch the children enjoying the music with their parents. Do bring rain gear just in case (we were glad we were prepared because we had some sprinkles). If you hate portapotties, there are facilities in the brewery building, although the lines are usually pretty long. We've already bought tickets to an event later this summer and can't wait to return to Pisgah Brewing!

I used to enjoy coming here, especially with my dog after a hike. Recently had a very poor experience with the sound guy George having an issue with my dog not wanting to be pet by him (he didn't even ask), and then the bartender got involved later on, right after pouring our group of 4 new beers, telling us to get out. The whole experience lacked any sort of respect or professionalism on the part of their staff. Will not be returning or supporting their products.

Let me be crystal clear the show was wonderful nothing at all the fault of the Talent. But the Venue charged 60 plus dollars for a VIP ticket 24 bucks for standard ticket The advertised perks were VIP seating exclusive porta potties VIP bar and concert tour poster for each ticket and a tour and tasting In The brewery
The reality-- wait for it. !!! Exclusive seating far far right of the stage pie shaped general admission area my seat was directly behind a lovely walnut tree !! And right beside the private potties. All three of them !!!???? The exclusive bar access was one side of a very busy bar that was serving general admission folks from 4 stations. VIP patrons from one station ?? The tour and tasting was rushed. Guide kept looking at her watch 3 tiny 2 ounce pours not impressive !! The concert poster you ask. Turns out if you don't go get your free poster early enough and others who did not spring for the package want to buy your poster. Well then the staff at the t shirt stand will just go ahead and sell these reserve t shirt to general admission folks

Yep. You guessed right. Paid for 2 posters that were sold to someone else and I was told oh we are so sorry we are sold out Better come early next time if you actually want to get what you already paid for.

Well no next time for this fuzzy duck and I have told this story to warn everyone that the VIP ticket is just bogus !! Tour was a rushed rude presentation through one door into the single room brewery tasting was 3 different beers that were served in a cough syrup sized shot cup VIP seats worse by far than general admission seats. Exclusive Porto pots numbering 3 were both to few and to close to my VIP seat 15 feet and definitely within smelling distance and the cherry on the top of my dissatisfaction was the fact that my free poster was sold to someone else. So if you do go to This venue do not spend the extra money for the VIP package frankly they are taking a 40 dollar premium for nothing really

I did not like the Pisgah Brewng Companies chair policy. Basically you are required to purchase VIP tickets in order to bring a chair. Also you are searched upon entry. I appreciate security but I believe the extensive search was to stop patrons from bringing in alcohol. In any event, the VIP area is much too small. You are crammed into an area with not much room, although you can move the other areas, just not with your chair. After all that, on the date we went they ran out of white wine after 2 hours. I was not a happy patron. All in all, I found it to be an overall negative experience.

Came here for a free concert, truly enjoyed the huge taproom and the beer prices were super low. Only issue is the cash only bar- sucks for the bartender, because I don't want to have to manage cash while listening to good music with friends, so no tab, means terrible tips I'm sure I'm not the only offender here. Food truck outside if you are hungry and and great sound made this an awesome place for a concert though.

Went to see an outdoor show @ was pleasantly surprised! Many great brews to choose from, including root beer on tap for non-drinkers. Self-service cold water taps/cups were nice, too- no waiting for a bartender or overpaying for bottled water. Multiple great food-truck vendors on site too, all reasonably priced. They don't sell liquor or sodas, so don't bother looking for ice but you can buy canned soft drinks from food vendors. Security was present where needed but not overbearing which made for a festive, laid back atmosphere. Only drawback was a shorter set due to noise ordinances in the area. Great place to see a show!

We visit many brewery's within the Ashville area but never a place that we come in, sit down for 2 hours drinking beer then asked to pay a cover when the band started playing?? I'm saying they wouldn't serve us without a wrist band...ridiculous! We won't be back which is very unfortunate since we really enjoyed the beer.

After visiting in July of 2018, we traveled again to Pisgah for the Strings and Suds Festival. A fantastic venue with great, clean accommodations. A comfortable crowd and great music made for a terrific weekend!
