If you have the time while in Beaufort, NC, you must take the Wild Horse & Dolphin Scenic Cruise. We went on the 4:00pm cruise and it was the best experience we had taking any small boat cruises. George and Bobby T. was the Captain and crew and George was knowledgable and entertaining. He was on the top of his game this day and had us going when he saw man a fishing on Carrot Island, he stopped the boat and excitedly had us all look and proceeded to tell us it was a wild human. When asked how he got where he was, George stated he didn't know because he was wild. All had a good laugh. Even thought the cruise is an hour and a half, George took his time making sure we saw and heard a lot of information. Heading back to the dock, George saw Dolphins and strayed course for everyone on the boat to see them. Well worth the money and time and if you have the time, please go and check out the cruise out.

This was an excellent cruise except for the wailing youngster. Every time the captain would try to explain something, the kid would let out high decibel screeches. It would be nice if these sunset cruises had an age limit, say twelve or so. The majority of people on board were adults.
But given that, the captain and crew member did a great job spotting dolphins, more than we've seen on many a cruise as far away as British Columbia. We were surprised by the number in this area. Also, we saw wild horses and even their foal.
It's a very worth while cruise with a very nice crew.

I learned so much! The guides were amazing with the History of Beaufort and the knowledge of the area! The captain was gracious in allowing us to enjoy the Dolphins and Horses and not rushing off. It was a wonderful experience and I will do it again! I highly recommend this if you are in Beaufort!

We have been coming to Beaufort for the past 13 years and have never been on the Crystal Coast dinner cruise. So we decided we were going to finally do it this year. Don’t!! For $106- the food was mediocre at best. Bbq ribs or bbq chicken w/potato salad, Cole slaw or side salad and hush puppies. Tea or water in small plastic cups with no ice. Cheap plastic cutlery to eat with. Then- for the actual boat ride. The captain pointed out ponies (that were never seen) and dolphins. No other landmarks or 411 was given the entire time. Definitely not worth the money and the smaller boat tours are definitely better & more informative and personable.

Bought these tickets for my wife and kids, but I was unable to go with them. After an understandable 15 minute delay in boarding to fix the A/C, they were seated in the downstairs dining room.

Just before food was served, my wife was told that the three of them would have to sit on one side of the table because two other people (who were part of a party of 5) would be sitting with them. This made my children very uncomfortable and they didn't talk the entire dinner. The food was served, cafeteria-style. All three said that their fish dinner tasted ok, but the fish was ice cold. While they were eating, the upper deck was invited down to get their food. While the tables downstairs were already cramped enough, now there were 50+ people standing among all of the diners, hovering over them as they tried to eat. It was a very unpleasant dinner.

After they finished eating, they went outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. To escape the strong diesel smell, they went to the bow and the kids really enjoyed cruising along. They did see the wild horses, so this part of the experience was very much enjoyed.

Dessert was served, but the couple that had been seated with my family had brought the remainder of their own party downstairs to sit with them, so my family had to take their dessert outside to eat it. The banana pudding was very good and fresh.

Thoughts: They must cater the food from somewhere and the 15 minute delay probably accounted for some of the issues with food temp. They must also book for the number of heads on the ship, rather than the number of parties. My wife noted that the party that was moved to sit with them wasn't the only party that was broken up. So... if you don't mind a crowded and cramped dining area with food that's been sitting in a tray for a while, and possibly being split from your party or seated with strangers, then this might be a good trip for you. Or you can take the cruise and not eat, but then you chance not getting a ticket.

Enjoy!

It was a lovely day on the water. We didn't see any dolphins, but that can't be helped. We did see several of the horses on Shackleford Island. The problem was that the boat's speaker system was not working and although the guide appeared to be quite knowledgable, he was unable to project over the boat, which was full, with many small and very loud children.

Heads up for people booking this cruise. On thier website is looks like you are booking a cruise on the 149 passenger vessel when in fact you may just be going out on a pontoon boat even though it looks like you are going out on a nice big boat when you book it. We even called the morning of our cruise to confirm we would be taking the big boat beacuse the same thing happened to us last year. They lied to us and said they would be taking out the large boat when I called. We drove an hour to celebrate our special occasion and when we found out we were lied to it was a hassle on the phone talking with the owners. They will not refund your money. They will only offer a gift certificate. And they did nothing for our wasted time and thier lies. Bait and switch. Buyer beware. There are other options in the area for cruises.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention and sharing your experience. We sincerely apologize for any confusion caused regarding the type of boat you booked and the discrepancy between our website and the actual vessel used for the cruise. At the time of your booking, we did have photos of the boat on the website and our facebook pages. Since your visit, we have updated our website to clearly differentiate between the different vessels we operate. We now have a new 100'' vessel available for cruises, which features air conditioning and two cabins for added comfort. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused during your special occasion. Regarding your concerns about communication on the day of your cruise, we strive to provide accurate information and it's unfortunate if there was a misunderstanding. We have taken steps to ensure clearer communication with our customers moving forward.

A fun way to end our summer vacation! We booked for the Saturday night dinner cruise, which featured BBQ chicken and ribs, potato salad, cole slaw and hush puppies, along with iced tea, water. Able to purchase wine, beer and mixed drinks as well. Dessert was banana pudding. All very good, for the price. The cruise was 1.5 hours long and we did see the wild horses at a distance- no dolphins, though. We enjoyed seeing the beautiful sunset too!

We did the sunset dinner cruise and had a great time. The crew was super friendly and the gentleman who served our dinner (also a school teacher during the day) was awesome. I wish I would of got his name. He was so nice and friendly and made our experience even better. We seen wild horses, dolphins, had a great meal, beautiful scenery and sunset. Thank you all for all you do!

The food was wonderful and plentiful. There was even dessert! There is also a bar onboard. The sunset views were stunning! I would highly recommend Crystal Coast Lady Cruises!
