We decided to do a quick boat tour of the Beaufort waterways. We chose this outfit for price and for our precious time schedule. We were NOT disappointed. Our tour began at the waterfront off downtown Beaufort. The Captain leading the tour was very knowledgeable and obviously intimately familiar with the waterways, islands, and history of the area--super informative. The... More

This was an excellent ferry service to carrot island where the Shackleford banks ponies live. They must not be disturbed and they are still very leery of humans. When visiting you must stay at least 50 feet away (the length of a city bus). The ferry dropped us off on the island and we could call for pick-up when we... More

I booked with this ferry service to provide access to a barrier island near Beaufort North Carolina known as Bird Shoal. Captain Barrow was pleasant, well informed about the area as he is a local, and provided safe transit to the island. The island itself afforded excellent shelling opportunities, a beautiful beach with essentially no other visitors, and access to... More

Sand dollar island, Cape lookout and Shackleford Banks are all great places to visit. I am sure the rest of the islands are equally as great. My husband and I are here for a year while he builds some commercial buildings and I googled things to do in the area. I came across this place. We have been going since... More

A late-day arrival to Beaufort cut short our time for Bird Shoals, so our ferry pilot kindly dropped us off further down the shoal where we saw horses and picked up a few shells. He piloted a ferry full of passengers the next morning to Sand Dollar Island (a Must-Do if you're in Beaufort at low-tide) instructing which items could... More

These folks can do drop offs and pick ups at Sanddollar Island, Bird Shoals, and Carrot Island. I know they can go out to Shackleford for tours but I do not believe they can drop off visitors. I have their phone number programmed into my phone as I travel with a child with health issues. They have promised to come... More

Myself, my husband, and our friend had Captain Jim take us out to Bird Shoal yesterday. I was a little nervous at first because I read some reviews about the boat being packed with people and uncomfortable. I also read about people getting really wet on the boat ride. And that the ride was super long or that there were... More

Thanks for the Great review; Bird Shoal is a great Island! The problems you heard about is the NPS ferry in Beaufort probably. Thanks for the feed back on our web site, it is a work in progress. Hope to see y-all again. Perry More

My family and I were looking for a good site seeing activity so we decided to give this tour a try. We went on the Rachel Carson Horse and Waterfront Tour. We really enjoyed it for if nothing else we love to be out on the water. The captain was friendly and he stoped at one of the small islands... More

Our family of four took the Wild Horses Tour on a recent Saturday afternoon. Our guide was very knowledgeable and shared lots of local history with us. He even stopped mid-tour to see if we could see any sea turtles in a location that they frequent. We ended our tour with a close-up view of some of the beautiful wild... More
