The museum is small but very interesting. We learned much about the area and the lighthouse. We also learned the Mr. Dosher was the lighthouse keeper.
Jobetts is a very sweet informative woman who will fill you on the history of the island and lighthouse.

This small museum at the base of the lighthouse was very informative. I enjoyed learning about lighthouses, variations, the people who worked there, etc. Very cool to see the original charter pre-Civil War.

This was an interesting museum. Quick visit before climbing up old Baldy lighthouse. It was nice to learn about how the lighthouse keepers lived.

This is a small museum, but packed full of interesting facts. We opted to go after we had climbed Old Baldy, but you can go before as well. Lots of interesting artifacts. Don't miss the gift shop after your visit. I found a dishcloth with all North Carolina's lighthouses on it. And the gentleman who helped us was quite knowledgeable and full of good information.

Learn all about the lighthouse, the island and happenings even in Southport. Small fee- but it helps with upkeep and worth it.

We love visiting the museum and climbing the stairs up to the top of the lighthouse. Not only do you have a great photo op at the top, but there are windows on the climb up.

the tour ended at the museum and the lighthouse. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Our tour guide also works at the museum and everyone on the tour was given 10% off the merchandise in the gift shop.

Nice examples of nature and a great place to learn about the island. Examples and names of plants located in small garden areas.
