I started coming to the Palisades Center when it first opened over 20 years ago. At that time, it was a vibrant place. Many people, many restaurant choices, plus movies, great shopping, activities. We used to be able to spend the whole day - it was fun, it was a destination.

I recently went on a week day in August 2020. It's now a boring, empty, dark, sad place. It's very muggy, always was. Something with the air conditioning not being correctly done for such a large, high space. Now half the stores are closed, half the restaurants are closed or seem to have nobody in them, there's nowhere to sit throughout the mall (due to the pandemic, all seating areas have been taken away).

I am not sure if it was so empty and sad because of the pandemic, or because online shopping killed brick and mortar retail, or because of something else.

This mall must be bleeding money. I can't imagine it staying open with nobody going there. With half the stores closed, the mall is not receiving rents. It's sad. The atmosphere is dead. We just went to the Danbury Mall which, despite the pandemic, has a lot of people in it, a packed food court, every store open.

It was a depressing place and we decided we would not return any time soon.

I used to go here in years past, but haven't been here until this past January. They're trying to hold on, but with their big stores closing, it's hard for them. The Jcpenney department store closed already, the Bed Bath & Beyond store is in the process of closing as is the Lord & Taylor store! Also there are many vacant smaller stores. Big spaces are empty and the mall is definitely not what it used to be. Very sad indeed.

The mall is nice enough, but not worth the hour drive we took to visit. We have the American Dream Mall closer to us, so the size was not impressive. The shopping was okay. The food court was disappointing. Not only was the food really not good from more than one vendor, but how do you only have tables of 4? I would check it out if in the area, but for our family, this mall was just ok.

This mall has gone the same direction the Palm Beach Mall went in Florida. Riff raff, closed stores, and filthy. At least the PB Mall was torn down and a nice mall is in its place.

and I'm from Jersey... that's saying something. We got to the mall and it looked promising. HUGE w/ tons to do. We decided we were going to go to Chilis and then walk around and see a movie (I had a free coupon for chilis and we really wanted to see a new movie that had come out a week ago) fine. So we wanted to use the bathroom... DIRTY dirty...dirty. GROSS bathroom. Fine whatever...it's a huge mall. It happens. We go upstairs to eat b/c chilis is on the top floor. It's so hot up there!!! It made me feel nauseous! Finally, we get to chilis and sit down. First of all...the waiters were COMPLETELY unprofessional. A young woman with shorts that looked like underwear kept coming in and out ... why... i have no idea. (It also seemed that dressing like a skank was a requirement of this mall so...if you're a guy looking to oogle some girls... come here i guess...gross) All the waiters kept doing was leaning on each other and yelling stuff at the girl! It took the waiter 10 mins to get our water!!! like...how hard is water to get? Fine, we get our food...our appetizer literally tasted like pee. It was a dip and I wanted to complain, but I figured... eh..whatever, it was free... what am I gonna say? So we didnt really eat that. PLUS the waiter wasnt even around to complain to... fine. However, we were supposed to get some salsa with our order. (it said so on the menu) this order we DID PAY FOR... we asked him when he stopped to give us our main dishes and he told us NO... okay thanks?! We order our food and it came out suspiciously fast. Mine was FREEZING COLD. Every time I tried to stop the waiter he ignored me... I took a few bites and I was done. SO GROSS. I've never had this problem with a chilis before. It was so unprofessional and terrible.

So then we're walking around and saw a little TCBY stand and decided to get yogurt since we were still hungry from not eating. We got a large... $5 and something cents....and started to eat. It was SOUR and gross. I go up and tell the woman ... she took like 15 mins to understand what i was saying and then told me Id have to pay for another one.. UH?! IT'S SOUR AND WENT BAD OBVIOUSLY... why should i have to pay for something that went bad and then pay for another one?! Terrible.

Finally, we decided it was time to leave. We didn't even watch our movie. Moral of the story is if you're a pervy guy...come here...if you're anyone else...stay away, Not worth it.

I went to the Palisades Mall with some of friends. It is a wonderful place for kids all ages. From Dave & Busters, laser tag, bowling, the rope course, ice skating, a movie theater, go carts, a 7D ride (any age), a ferris wheel, a carousel, Mystery Room, virtual reality (which was not working that well when I tried it out), and MUCH more. In my opinion the best restaurant or the most "high end" if you will, is defiantly The Cheesecake Factory. The rest of the restaurants are not as known and tailored to one specific food. There are endless amounts of eataries including restaurants and the food court. The amount of stores are countless and tailored to all ages. This mall is defiantly not as ethically pleasing as other malls and the parking can sometimes be an issue. If you are especially paranoid about parking underground I would not park in the underground lot because it sometimes can be a bit "sketchy." It has never been that crowed and I have been there many, many times. You could spend about 2 days there going from the mall's opening hours to the closing hours and not repeat activities. This is a great mall and for being so massive it is very easy to to get around and not confusing at all. I love it here and it is one of my favorite malls. I defiantly recommend this to families everywhere.

The palisades mall in west nyack was built a number if years ago over a lot of local opposition. The builders won and after it was completed said they couldn't pay their taxes. What resulted was a mall with miserably uncomfortable cracked concrete floors and a distinct lack of comfort. The restaurants are all chain restaurants, and the new ones coming in are low-end. It attracts a low-end clientele as well. Some good stores have left--the Apple store, Williams-Sonoma. Its only saving grace is the stadium seating for the movies. There are 21 theaters, and you think they could show art films and more independent movies, but no. Stay away, even if you like malls. It's a real loser,

This mall has gone downhill the past couple years. Cheap management seems to have driven out all the top line stores and replaced them with cheap generic low end clothing stores. Not a single intetersting kiosk thst doesn't just sell junk.

It is large enough but not a good, quality place to shop unless you are looking for low end merchandise.

Even worse, the place is run down. Carpeting is filthy, floors need cleaning, facades need paint jobs, no decent seating. Appatently managment is milking this place and not spending enough on maintenace and repair. It's run like some cheap Delancey Street flea market instead of a quality mall. Save your time and shop elsewhere.

It was a very fun time at this mall. I love how many shops they have, the choices of food and their entertainment. I went there with a 1.5 year old, an almost 3 year old and a 7.5 year old. They had a blast!

Last night my wife and I met friends at the Palisades Center, an enormous shopping mall just off the Thruway and west of the Tappan Zee Bridge. This mall has everything. I had never been here before because we live so close to all the Paramus shopping, but I was pleasantly surprised by all the eateries and entertainment venues, such as the intricate ropes course which we agreed we must bring our grandchildren to see.
