I have been there more than once now for a trailride and every time had a wonderful relaxed ride perfectly fit to my experience, with opportunities to trot and canter. My horse was wonderful and all the guides I had so far were very friendly and really making sure I feel comfortable, and let you spend time with your horse. Loving it.…

Our guide was Terry; she was fantastic and made sure all of us were comfortable stopping / starting / turning etc. and what to expect. I think it's important to note that the trail ride horses are not the schooled horses you see photos of on their website - all of the horses on our ride (5) were Standardbred ex - pacers. If you don't have riding boots or a helmet, they have many different sizes for use. For a beginner or relatively new rider, this ride is suited as the horses were safe and are "just trail horses". They follow the leader, trot when the leader trots and stop when the leader stops! The trail is walking and trotting only (however they do offer a more advanced ride earlier apparently (if you buy a coupon off groupon etc., you have to pay $30 if you want to upgrade to the advanced ride)) Terry made all of us feel comfortable by asking us if we wanted to trot and checked a number of times throughout the trail that people were ok. I have to say I didn't trot; my horse decided to pace when the speed was picked up! I would recommend this for beginners or new riders but I think older riders would be disappointed by the horses. All in all, it was an okay ride but our guide made it so much more enjoyable by being pleasant and friendly.…

I recently visited academy equestrian as a avid fan of anything outdoors, I was greeted with a warm welcome by Terri who made the experience as relaxed as possible and was comfortable to be around, I have had very little experience as a rider but was very impressed with her knowledge and her patience towards myself. The ride was thoroughly enjoyable and was a pleasant experience that I would recommend to anyone to partake in. Thanks academy equestrian.…

I have learn't to ride at Academy Equestrian as an adult Rider. It is the only Riding School with in a app 20km range that has a full indoor Arena. (Great for hot & rainy days). It also has a massive outdoor arena , & a huge Cross Country Course. There are many wonderful horses suitable for all skill levels. The Coaches teach in a manner that is respectful, kind to the Horse. Which I love. Various Trail rides are available. I particularly enjoyed cantering through a lake last Summer. Please be realistic about your rides. As safety is there no 1 concern. Your ride will suit your experience level, & Weather conditions. They also do regular Jump clinics, Centered riding workshops, & occasional guest Coaches. It is a very exciting & varied, place to progress your riding at. I love it. I have been attending for over 2 years. Giddy up!…
