Very imposing and interesting memorial along the esplanade walkway just out of town. The memorial itself consists of geese flying, set atop a mable monolith surrounded by a number of plaques.

We came across this memorial as we were walking along the esplanade and palm beach. Some interesting facts on the inscriptions and very historical. Good for history buffs, but we were not.

Great story about the escape, conviniently located near a cafe to wind down after reading such an inspirational and interesting story (possibly movie worthy) Beautiful monument with great views.

Rockinghams history with the Catalpa is a good story about the early times with the ships frequenting the area in the early days. It tells of men and their fight for freedom and survival.

You only need to spend a few minutes reading about some of the past convicts and what they became. Very interesting!

You can go by train and bus but it's a bit of a journey. There are some lovely beaches nearby!
