Went to escape the inland warmth at this little gem of a beach. Waters are blue aqua crystal clear little to no waves and is quite a shallow waters for quite a distance from the shore. Water is for the region cold and refeshing but...More
Can't express that feeling while driving through to enter Meelup beach. It's truly a peace of heaven on earth. beautiful beach, perfect sunset, clear water and golden sand. a must visit if in the region
Was there during noon time and like what the other reviewers had shared, it is a really lovely beach. However, when I was leaving, I saw on the information board stating that Meelup beach have something to do with the moon casting its "rays" over...More
On a very windy day Meelup Beach was a delight to visit.
Due to the direction of the wind Meelup is well sheltered resulting in calm waters great for swimming .
Plenty of parking on site plus the toilets were well maintained and very clean...More

I don't find the Margaret River township very interesting ( it's the region that's great) so you still have a few hours after the tour to explore. However, if you have had a few wines at lunch you might just want to chill and not drive anywhere. You could do a walk or stroll from the MR township which could be pleasant. Yallingup area is lovely to stay but fewer eating places and means a drive after the tour.
Itinerary advise for June - City, Margaret River & Fremantle (7 Replies)
Hi, we will be travelling to Perth in mid June and wonder our itinerary will be suitable for the winter weather. We would appreciate if the experts here and give some advise or recommendations. :) 12 June - Arrive in Perth in the evening. Rent a car and check in hotel near airport. 13 June - Drive to Margaret River. Lunch at Bonnefoi Boulevard or Busselton Jetty. Visit Underwater Observatory, Geographe Bay. Not sure if we should visit Dunsborough. Visit Meelup Beach, Cape...More

Night markets unless under cover are pretty much finished for now until summer. Not sure about Perth Home Grown Markets, but it seems they will be operating. Have a Plan B just in case though. Hiring a car at the airport garners an added daily fee. I’d take a taxi to a hotel in the CBD and hire from a Perth depot the next day. I stand to be corrected but I don’t think many/any wineries do dinner service, only lunch. If the waves are high Busselton Underwater Observatory may not be great...More
