I happened to drive past this place and decided to have a look. I’m so glad I did! Their meads and ice creams were lovely. In retrospect I wish I had bought more mead. We enjoyed their ice cream so much that we went back the following day and enjoyed them with a coffee at their outdoor settings. Lovely selection of Honey as well. Worth a visit.

Great products and have visited several times.

However, quite disappointed with the level of customer service we received by the customer service lady.

Twice, spoken to in a rather rude and unfriendly manner. Clearly didn't want us to enjoy our experience.

Disappointed as we have been a repeated customer over the years. Will think again before visiting in the future.

We make a point of dropping by the Meadery and buy bulk honey which is worth a bit more but taste great. This business clearly has changed for the worst since our last visit and it has probably changed hands. The philosophy now is certainly not about the customer as it once recently was. We overheard those ahead of us being told that it was $5 to taste each bottle of the honey wine with the money refunded off the purchase. You know, I like the honey wine and have bought the varietal dozens when we visit but not this time. I do not like that attitude, the business model nor the gouging. To add injury to insult we found the same 3kg honey that we paid $45 each for was available at the local Denmark IGA for $33. Ya know where to go now so save the fuel and the grief.

Hi There I am sorry to hear this terrible story, and if I may would like to address your complaints. The business hasn't changed hands recently, I have owned the business for six years and have worked here for twelve years, so the way the business has run and our attitude towards customers hasn't varied in all that time. Im not sure what the $5 tasting fee was that you overheard, we do have a tasting fee for large bus groups, as when large buses come en masse, we have to employ extra staff to cope with the tastings. Buses are informed of this before they book a visit. The 3kg honey that you would have bought for $45.30, would have been Coastal Heath this is a beautiful honey sourced from local native bushland with no chemicals, heating or machine intervention. None of our 3kg honeys are available at the Denmark IGA, so possibly you have seen another brand at the store ? or you saw a 1kg tub? We did supply them with this size over a year ago, so they may have had old tags there on the shelves, which would show the Wildflower Honey 3kg at $34.90, .Different varieties are at different prices. I hope that I have answered your queries, and you are more than welcome to contact me anytime with concerns, Careena - info@honeywine.com.au

Let me just start by saying that I have never left a bad review.

We purchased an icecream for my older son and my younger son wanted a small taste sample before we got him a full size icecream.
The grumpy, rude lady behind the counter stared down at him angrily and replied,

"NO...YOU MAY ABSOLUTELY NOT!! YOU'RE A BIG BOY, CANT YOU READ THE SIGN??? TASTE YOUR BROTHERS!!!"

Well, for you information...no, he can't read. Thanks for making him feel embarrassed about this and for verbally scolding my child in front of me.

My husband also asked you a question about the honeycomb to which you replied in the same tone,

"NO...WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO DO THAT. THAT'S STUPID!! YOU'LL GET ALL WAX IN YOUR MOUTH!!"

We didn't say anything then as my son was upset and there were other people around.

YOU ARE A HORRIBLE PERSON! I hope you get fired for this and that no one visits your awful store ever again!

By the way...your icecream is sooooo yucky and the waffle cone was all soggy it went straight in the bin.

We proceeded up the road to the nice toffee/icecream place (recommended).

For those reading this, the rest of Denmark is lovely,
Just DON'T visit this place!

We took family members to the Meadery and were very disappointed. We acknowledge that the Christmas holidays are always very busy and allowed for this. What we didn't expect was the fact that there was no room to move in the very small space allowed for the shop and the larger space which housed tabled and chairs next to the shop, was closed. The line for an ice cream trailed out the door as the shop area is so tiny (leaving little room to look at anything else, including the bees)There was only one person serving cones while also trying to pack products and answer questions, while the only other staff member did mead tastings and sold mead. Outside is a dust bowl and not a seat to sit on (notwithstanding the area that was shut adjacent to the shop area which would have made an appropriate seating area for visitors.) Come on Meadery, some visitors travel huge miles to get to you. We don't want to sit in our cars to eat our ice cream or stand in a busy car park while our cones collect dust. We left feeling rather despondent and without the ice cream we had seen advertised. Perhaps you could come up with a seasonal solution as we weren't the only ones to turn away.

Hi Our shop is very small. And I apologise for that. At this time if year we have a minimum of three staff working , usually four. You may have arrived when people were filling buckets for people, going to the loo, having a spot of lunch, or a cup of tea. We cannot stop the dust, we are in the country, and are not a big business. There is not room with table and chairs attached to the shop, so I'm not sure to what you are referring there. I can only say that we do our very best to serve everyone, and if we didn't please you I'm sorry, but did please many people over the Christmas period

It has the best honey based wines that I have tasted. Its well worth the visit. We bought every variety of wine and love all of them. The only one left is the desert wine.Great fir the kids as well to understand a bit more about honey bees with live displays. The honey is also great with one heather variety similar to the great Leatherwood Honey of Tasmania. Comes in 3 kilo tubs as well. Great experience which you can take with you. High recommended.

we visited here to buy some honey and did that, but they have some other great honey related products, one we bought was a honey chili marinade which we have used since coming home. This was so tasty and you only need a small amount or it will blow your head off. worth a visit, they ice cream is really good too!

Loved the wide range of great honey products and the yummy honey wines/meads. The little shop was very busy with only one person serving and run off her feet. Was a difficult choice to narrow down, but took home some cinnamon honey and a bottle of mead. Also enjoyed a bucket of assorted honey ice-creams topped with honey liqueur for sweets after dinner......... yyuuuummmmm !!
