NICE TO VISIT
Apr 2021 • Family
We did the usual tourist visit to Ben Halls grave it was nice but !! A few other other notable soles there as well so if our this way do the grave and the spot where he was shot but in all a little anticlimax for me but part of our history we should not forget.

A must visit if you are a Ben Hall fan.

A very neat country cemetery which includes several interesting graves from the bush ranging days. A large display board at the entrance makes navigating the grave sites easy.

Lovely cemetery with well-known burials
Oct 2020 • Solo
A must-stop for history lovers with the likes of Ben Hall, Rebecca Sheilds & Kate Kelly buried here. Lots of other well-known local graves to find the with the cemetery walk. Just in general is a lovely cemetery to stroll around, particularly if you’re looking for family members & ancestors.

Historical and Tidy Graveyard!
Sep 2020
The graveyard is very large and well kept. We met one of the friendly volunteers, Uncle Ronny Morris. He shared a few stories from the graveyard as well as some fun stories from his younger years in Forbes. Contrary to a few other reviews, the 3 notable graves were very easy to find with signposts throughout the graveyard. The graveyard will naturally mean more to historically minded people so doing some basic reading of Ben Hall, Kate Foster nee Kelly, and Rebecca Shield will make the trip more worthwhile. An easy historical highlight that can be checked out quickly if you are interested.

Historical highlight
Oct 2019
Visited the cemetery mainly to view Ben Hall's gravesite. Met a volunteer (thanks Ron Morris!) who pointed out a few other interesting graves that weren't on the printed guide, including the great-niece of Capt James Cok!

A wander through history
Mar 2019 • Solo
A well maintained cemetery with some "famous" people buried there.
There's conjecture as to whether bush ranger, Ben Hall, is actually buried there.
Ned Kelly's sister is buried there.
It's amazing walking amongst the grave and looking at some of the headstones and wonder what their back story is.

Interesting collection of historical connections
Dec 2018 • Solo
For a smallish regional cemetery, this has a lot of connections familiar from history - bushranger Ben Hall, Ned Kelly's sister, and Captain Cook's great grand niece. The is plenty else of interest from Forbes history - look for the Vandenberg graves. Cemetery well maintained and easy to walk around.
