There were some lovely and unusual pieces that took my interest. Perhaps a good place for Christmas shopping … (sorry, it’s a bit early for the C word).

We visited Carly at Scilly Gems this week and what a fabulous find! We purchased beautifully made glass hair clips for our grandchildren and they were delighted - we took a picture of Carly to show them when we arrived home. A lovely lady in an idyllic situation. Thank you Carly for making us feel welcome and the personal touches!! The girls loved the pretty wrapping!!

On my recent holiday in St. Marys I decided to explore the coastal walk with a stop at Juliets Garden for lunch! On the way I had the pleasure of finding the Porthloo Studios which is the home of Scilly Gems along with other artists.I purchased a rather pretty bracelet which was only £10 and and handmade by a lovely lady who made me feel welcome on the island!

I bought a handbag for thirty-two pounds and within 3 weeks it was coming apart - the material just didn't stand up to wear. very disappointed.

I managed to find several items to purchase in this studio - lots of choice and a wide selection of styles. When I lost an earring I was able to get a replacement.
