The possibilities are endless and with a safety boat doing regular patrols and staff always ready to lend a hand if you are at all unsure, this really is an option available to all. We are based at Green Bay on Bryher. We have hire points on St Martin's and deliver to Tresco by arrangement. We hire small boats with outboards, a range of sailing dinghies and stable sit on top kayaks. We provide buoyancy aids, full safety equipment and give comprehensive instruction on boat handling. Wetsuits and fishing lines also available to hire. We hire from 9.30am to 6pm with half day hires from 9.30am - 1pm or 2pm - 6pm. We can also arrange hire times around inter-island launches. We are here to help, call us to discuss your hire requirements. Thinking of keeping your boat in Scilly? We offer year round storage for all boats in our safe and sheltered enclosure. We cover all aspects of boat care and provide a full maintenance and repair service to give you a hassle free boating holiday.

We stayed on St Martins for 6 days and on the penultimate day, rented a gaff rigged sailing boat from Bennetts. Everyone was really helpful, we were picked up from St Martins on time, given instruction on rigging the boat at Bryher and we were off. Despite a good forecast for the day, we were soaked by a rain shower within minutes!! But we were helped to ashore to warm up, and after a coffee at the local cafe, were on our way again for a tour around all the islands until 5pm. Nothing was too much trouble, we really felt looked after. Charts, flares etc were provided with our briefing, you just need to keep aware of the tides as the area has a lot of shallows.

Well this is a way to travel the islands without the services of the various Boating Association timetables.
They'll rent you the right size of boat for your needs and put you right on tides and moorings
This way we got to Samson for the first time

Hired a sit on top single kayak for four hours on two consecutive days.
These guys were super helpful and on the second day even delivered the kayak to St Martin's and collected again for no charge.
All to fit in with the launches from and to St Mary's .
A fabulous area to explore, particularly if the weather's good and the wind lightish.
Thank you Bennett Boatyard for making my Scilly kayaking experience so easy and enjoyable.

Dan was prompt and helpful pre trip and equally helpful once we arrived. I hired a Clovelly Picarooner to take my Wife and 8 year old daughter on their first sailing experience. Absolutely first class...

Dan looks after our boat for us and offers exceptional service. He helped us to ship it over here, when we arrive it's always on a mooring. Any tips or advice he's always there. Superb thanks Dan.

Pleasurable afternoon spent exploring the coves of st Martins, Tresco and Samson in a 16' motor launch from Bennetts. The rental pickup was very quick and equipment well explained by knowledgable staff. The cost was reasonable.

Friendly staff. We hired a double kayak for half a day and paddled to old Grimsby on Tresco for an ice cream. Great way to see more of the island.

Based on St Martins we were at the mercy of where the scheduled services were going to on the day, and there's only so many trips to Tresco and back that you want to do. So we hired an outboard dinghy which was brought over from Bryher and told to enjoy ourselves. Which we did; all day. Landings on Tean, St Helens, Northwethel, lunch at old Grimsby - how cool it is to arrive at the beach directly and go straight to Ruin Beach cafe - and we still had time to cross to Samson, moor and walk up the south hill, back up to Cromwells tower and back to St Martins. Best £90 I've spent in a while. Thanks Bennett's !!

After hiring a two seat kyak for a couple of hours heading south to watch the seals playing in the sea we hired a 14ft motorboat for the day from Bennett Boatyard on our final day on Bryher - thankfully a day with a "quiet" sea. After being shown efficiently how to start the motor and other safety aspects the five of us were on our way to the uninhabited Samson - fabulous beaches and old ruins. From there over to New Grimsby Tresco stores to collect our picnic items then over to the beautiful St Martins' sandy Lawrence Bay. Parking the boat at low water using the anchor and line as shown to make sure the boat didn't disappear we walked over to the beautiful Great Bay for our picnic - one of the party even went for a swim on the almost empty beach. Returning to the yard via Bryher's Rushy Bay to watch the seals. A fabulous day and one we will repeat on our next visit this year. Highly recommended.

Hired a boat, turned up, welcomed and lifejackets on, asked to bring the boat back later, told to enjoy.
This is how boating should be and the scenery has to be seen to believed.
Brilliant trip in sheltered water around Tresco, St Martins and Bryher on a sunny day, absolute bliss.
