This small church is located on the popular alley known as “Via Giuseppe Orlandi.” Not far is the interesting museum of “Casa Rossa,” located on the same alley. The church was built in the 16 century. Not as big or as pretty (as it is...More

This church was built in 1510 over the square known as "La Pietre" (the Stones) and over the structures of an older church dedicated to S. Carlo, thus replacing the original parish of S. Maria a Constantinopoli. It is definitely a good place for some...More

Santa Sophia probably dates back to 1595–96 on a site where there was an earlier church dedicated to St Charles. The date of 1510 inscribed on the facade is incorrect. Had a Greek icon of St Sophia and some ornate chapels. Curiously and this, probably,...More

Beautiful artwork that constitutes the floor of this divine church. You walk around the circumference without touching the precious tile work that constitutes this wondrous, artistic tour de force. Nominal entry fee.

While wondering the streets of Anacapri we stumbled upon S Sofia. What a beautiful little church. The ceramic floor is unlike anything I have seen in Italy. Worth a short stop.

It's mind blowing to know that it's still intact and still so very beautiful after all these years. Definitely worth the entrance price.

Nearer the end of the pedestrian street, is this small Church. The Church of St. Michele, with its beautiful floor, is worth a detour. The Church of Santa Sofia is much less impressive. Free to enter. Worth a quick pop-in only if in the area....More
