As others have written, this is a most spectacular experience of rock formations. When in Corsica, and about 90 minutes from Ajaccio, this is an experience that cannot be captured in words and photographs don’t do justice enough. Best to walk the windy narrow road...More

So worth the drive, though watch out for the tourist buses on the bends. In late September, it was not very busy and you can park along the way to take photos.

The views are astonishing, superb, just like the background of some Western movies. The red rocks shine brightly when the sun is out and give a very picturesque ambiente to this region, which, at the first sight, seem strange to the rest of Corsica. When...More

Careful driving a must. Winding and narrow road. Spectacular views. Mostly unhabited 20kms from Porto in both directions. Worth doing it North to South and back. The driver has very few opportunities to look around while driving. Too few stop possibilities along this high corniche.

Words cannot describe how breathtaking the Calanques are. We have been fortunate to be staying right in the middle of them for a week, but each time we look out from the terrace we are stunned by the beauty. Deservedly a UNESCO world heritage site

You just have to go. The road is fine, just drive slow, as everyone does. The scenery is so spectacular that people find a place to deposit their car (I wouldn’t call it parking) and then walk along the road to take photos adding to...More
