About

Two of us had a wine tour of this lovely chateau while staying in the Saint Emilion. Our tour guide provided us with a very nice visit of the wine cellars and explained the chateau’s process for making and storing wines. It was very interesting to visit the underground caves, previously constructed centuries ago, where they are now able to store their wines without any additional refrigeration or temperature control. After the tour of the cellars, we sampled five of their wines-all red wines-which were very nice. The tastings were nicely paired with different little desserts in between. The grounds are lovely and it was within walking distance of SE. Thoroughly enjoyed this tour.

We were at the winery as part of a tasting tour we arranged via “Bordeaux with Elodie”. The tour was excellent. Our host (I think her name was Emilie) was awesome. She had a great sense of humour and engaged us right from the beginning. This is a Premier Grand Cru Classe B Saint Emilion winery with a great history. What’s cool about this part of region is it sitting on limestone that has miles of tunnels underneath. Part of the tour took us down into the ones directly below the chateau. There is a chapel and of course this is where the family stores their wines including their personal collection of the wineries production dating back many many years. We were also educated on how the next generations of the family are continuing the wine making tradition with the making an excellent Grand Cru Classe and their children also doing the same in their own wineries in the region.

Overall an excellent tasting that I would highly recommend

My wife and I visited Chateau Beau-Sejour-Becot and were given a tour in English. We were the only people on the tour so it was very personal. We had a nice tasting after the tour and even sat down with our guide (I'm sorry I forgot her name!) and visited while we had our tasting. The tour was the most expensive that we did during our stay in St. Emilion, but due to the personal nature of it, we were ok with the cost. We ended up buying several bottles of wine at the end.

We had a nice tour of the vineyard, followed by a very nice tasting of 4 red wines accompanied by some sweets. The wines are very good, but their price list is way overpriced. For their 2016 vintage for example they ask 120 euro, while you can find the same vintage for 66 euro in the Intermarché! Also other vintages can easily be found at prices around 70 euro at local wine dealers.

Since I had enjoyed some bottles from Joanin Becot in the US, I was looking forward to our tour here. Although the tasting fees here are steeper than other chateaux we visited, the wine is good, the story of the family-owned business is touching, and the underground cave is unique and quite something-- you really do get the historic nature of the business and winemaking there. We enjoyed our private tour and came back with a nice wooden plaque/cheese board too.

Came in at the last second, without a reservation of any kind at around 4 p.m. The Sommelier was outside and my husband was lucky enough to schedule a tasting for us right then and there! We are eternally grateful. This was my birthday, our last full day in Bordeaux and our only time to do any wine tasting while in France. We were grateful to be having an experience of any kind but most certainly did not expect the experience we had. We were giving a tour of the underground limestone cellar (which was incredible) and then proceeded to our tasting in the tasting room. We took our time, enjoyed the wines and cookies, learned about the vineyard and each blend, and thoroughly enjoyed our time chatting with the Sommelier. An experience we will always remember. Thank you!

Third-generation winery. The hosts were so gracious and proud to show us their estate. If you're able, ask to see the wine tunnels beneath the property.

I went with my family and we had a great time. Emilie was super professional and showed everything we wanted to know. We tasted great wines as well. The tour took about 1 hour and 15 minutes. We highly recommend it!

This visit was our second winery visit of 8 days Bordeaux trip. Château is very close to Saint Emilion centre but the ways are narrow and strange so you should go by car. Lovic was very knowledgeable and friendly who guided very well to us. You will see the most spectacular sights at underground part of the Château. And don't miss the 2015 vintage.

My brother and I had the honor of visiting Chateau Beau-Sejour-Becot for a private tour and tasting. Emilie was the perfect ambassador for this wonderful estate. She was knowledgeable and passionate about the wine making process and she took great pride in the estate and their product. The highlight of the tour were the underground limestone caves. They were built around 500 years ago and they house the families extensive wine collection. After the tour ended we tasted a selection of their wines. Their Premier Grand Cru Classe was excellent!
