Date: Jun 8, 2019 It is Sunday and you have nowhere to go when in Bordeaux? This is a 45 minutes drive approximately plus walking to this attractive site. There is an old church transformed into a retreat with seminar room. Behind the church, there...More

This church s beside tourist office at top of town so easy to find. It has a nice simple feel to it and in summer would be nice and cool. Cloister also worth a visit. Interesting Stations of the Cross which are in stone.

You will come upon this site as you wander from the church. I can picture where the monks slept and prayed. Now accented with some artists wild drawings. (Not sure this is a added bonus.)

St. Emil lion is a lovely small walled town in the middle of the vineyards. Lots of ruins in a beautiful setting. Walk through the town and feast your eyes and senses. Love the drive out to the vines!

I wouldn't put Cloitre des Cordeliers on the list of "must do's" in St. Emilion but it is a good spot to spend part of a sunny afternoon. You can browse the shop or have a drink in the garden all while wandering around a...More

Was closed and inaccessible - seems to be under renovation ! There is a cafe 'next door' which even seemed to be shut when we were there, though other travellers reported it as being open.

There are hardly any visitors since everything seems to be in ruins and there is not much to see. The only visitors seem to be those coming to the cafe for a glass of wine or cup of coffee

a small group from our boat toured here and the guide was very informative and the old church and underground ruins are pretty special. the entire little village should be on your bucket list, and for at least a full day to enjoy it all.

Beautiful peaceful spot! We loved the gardens with inconspicuous picnic tables of today blended with walls with such character from long ago!
