We stumbled across this shop more by chance than design but had such a brilliant time I felt compelled to write a review. I've rarely seen such enthusiasm as Greg's for his subject and an ability to read what we were liking a steer us towards other wines of a similar style. There are so many producers in St Emilion that it's hard to get a grip on where to start - this is the place you should go to rectify that. Lots of big names and lots of hidden gems and happy to open and taste most things. Clearly an insider in the region who has a large happy clientele and offers a lot of the best in the area. And an English speaker for those of us who miss the nuance in a French-lead tasting.

We found this wine store while walking around the quaint town of Saint Emilion. Greg was so helpful in finding the specific wine we were looking for from Chateau de Pressac while also allowing us to try some other wines from the region. We ended up having a lovely time in his shop for over an hour and walked out with three lovely bottles of wine, two of which were over 30 years old!

This wine shop in Saint-Emilion was exceptional - an absolute must visit! We stayed in Saint-Emilion for 5 days and visited this wine shop multiple times. The service we received from William was great - he was kind and incredibly knowledgeable and sold us some of the best wine we have had on our entire trip! 5 stars!

Greg, the proprietor, is truly knowledgeable about the wines and producers of the region. He offers an unparalleled opportunity to taste wines in all price ranges, and provides lots of local colour as well as good analysis of the wines he is presenting. He also knows the ins and outs of shipping French wines to various countries and provides an excellent service in that regard. I would recommend this as a starting place in St. Emilion before visiting individual chateaux, and as the best place if you don't have time to tour around extensively.

The manager of the apartment I stayed in St Emilon pointed me to this great wine tasting and sales shop run by Greg, an South Aussie expat who has been here for 14 years. He tailored a tasting to my price range (EUR 40-50) as well as a very special wine which was over EUR 100. I learned a lot about the local wine which has a lot or Merlot in it. We don't see this often in Australia. These wines are amazing and the effect of the different soil types is clear. A great experience. So any Aussies visiting, I recommend dropping by and saying hi to Greg. He'll set you up with a wine that suits your taste and budget (well I don't think he has cheap stuff you can get at the supermarket). He is part of a collective that can get wines you would never see in Australia. If you're heading home, grab a bottle (or more). If you're nice to the customs folks and tell them the truth (i.e. don't say a EUR 40 bottle cost EUR10 !) they might even waive hitting you with Australia's ridiculous wine taxes (46% - thank John Howard for that). He ships wine but it's pretty expensive, but you don't pay France's 20% VAT.
