This was such an incredible experience! Our host was so welcoming and friendly and his magic skills were the cherry on the sundae. We truly enjoyed the visit - but a word of caution to fellow tourists, ask for directions to get there. Cheers!!

Our visit to Chateau Laniote, a grand cru classe chateau in the St Emilion region, was one of the most enjoyable visits we had during our 4-day trip to Bordeaux. Being a small family-run business, we had the privilege of meeting with the owner of the chateau (8th generation). Monsieur Arnaud was not only very friendly, but highly entertaining -... More

We were recommended Chateau Laniote by the tourist information in St Emilion and certainly weren't disappointed. Arnaud was such a super guy, very friendly and welcoming, telling us a bit about the history and showing us a short video about the process at his chateau. We couldn't not buy a bottle of his lovely wine, particularly after the charming Arnaud's... More

We are visiting Bordeaux for our honeymoon and stopped by on a whim from TripAdvisor. What an awesome time. The owner was charming and fun (we didn't have a reservation but he welcomed us all the same), the vineyard was beautiful, and the wine was quite good!

I have visited a number of Chateau around Bordeaux after living in the area but came across Chateau Laniote completely by chance. Rather than the stuffy highly scientific atmosphere from some Chateaux Arnaud was funny, great value with his magic tricks and very informative about the wine. Would happily go again and for people who only speak English he was... More

I visited Cht Laniote a couple of weeks ago on a rainy day. Arnaud was a very gracious host who note only provided an informative tour of his cellar/winery but also welcomed his guests with magic tricks. He is a very passionate St. Emilion winemaker (8th or 9th generation), who will make your experience worth the visit!

While it rained during our visit, the Chateau and experience was great. Arnaud is a wonderful host, (who loves doing magic tricks!) and really cares about his guest. They show about a 10 minute film which highlights the process from start to finish which was very informative and well done. The Laniote wine is very unique and delicious. I would... More

The de la Filole gave a very good tour of their vineyard and explanation of winemaking. The tour was both clear and also entertaining.

I would warmly recommend a visit of Château Laniote. First of all because it is a family-owned Château since 1821, you will immediately feel a noticeable difference compared to a visit to, say, a recent investment of an insurance company. The owner, Arnaud de la Filolie, is passionate about his wine-making, welcoming and very funny. He does not ask any... More
