The Jurisdiction of Saint-Emilion (including the town and the territory of the 8 villages united under the authority of the medieval Jurade) was listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage in 1999 to preserve, restore and share this outstanding heritage! Covered in vines and bordered with rivers, along woody slopes and picturesque roads, the Jurisdiction of Saint-Emilion stretches out over 75 km² around a particularly well-preserved medieval town and is the ideal place to stay. Only 30 minutes from Bordeaux and 1h from Bergerac or Périgueux, Saint-Emilion is the perfect starting point to tour around the vineyards of Bordeaux and the Perigord district. Legend has it that the town bears the name of a Breton monk that performed miracles while living an exemplary life. In order to retire from social life, he settled in 750 in a natural grotto, which can still be visited nowadays in the heart of the town!

They have a cool gift shop with trinkets but nothing really unusual. The staff answered basic questions but we did not challenge them with difficulties because we had a private tour.

Think of a place where (GREAT) wine and history are fully combined: well, one such a place is Saint-Émilion, in southern France. Rent a car in Bordeaux and drive through endless vineyards to reach the exquisite and history-loaded Saint-Émilion. The small city offers some excellent (but small) restaurants and loads of history. And, best of all, you can buy some... More

Visited the office the tourisme as I had booked two guided tours through their website. Great news, no need to print the tickets! The lady at the reception desk was friendly, however not that helpful when I asked for help with booking a tour in Bergerac as St Emilion and Bergerac aren't part of the same "departement". The two tour... More

This tourism office is very good. They have English speakers and sell tickets to tours and have maps of the vineyards and recommendations on what to do and where to go. It's at the top of the hill which offers a nice view of the town.

We signed up for the city tour in English, and it was terrific. The office also referred us to some wine chateaus that would receive visitors on a Saturday during the harvest. We were able to get into one of them and had a lovely experience.

The personnel in this Office were very helpful and willing to fill tourists in on all of the local attractions. The space is open and uncluttered with just sufficient arrays of local crafts and goods to tempt without being too dominating.

TRhe Travel Office in St Emilion is friendly, efficient, and very helpful in sourcing information for making the most of St Emilion and its neighbouring region. There are so many things to see, wineries to visit, and places to eat at. We love this very special UNESCO recognised town.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. My French is not very good and they were quite accommodating. They helped us focus on seeing the things we really wanted to while we were in St. Emilion
