Bonita playa y muelle con humedales al costado, pero nada extraordinario, solo si tienes suerte ves delfines cerca al muelle.

Nice beach and pier with wetlands on the side, but nothing extraordinary, only if you are lucky you can see dolphins near the pier.

Lovely views

I enjoyed walking on this beach to see the views as well as the birds and the fishermen. Interesting to watch them do their craft. Some were in boats, others on shore and some on a small floating device manually putting out their nets. The worst part about this beach was the trash. Construction fencing, plastic bottles, medical bottles, styrofoam food containers and other stuff was all over. A person from the city did come out to start to pick it up while I was there. Unfortunately only certain items were picked up and while a bag of trash was removed 99% remained. It was disheartening.

We have walk the beach and found all kinds of garbages and death animals washed up on it.... this is not the tourism season but a little clean up once in a while would be nice. Would not swim in ...

Quiet at this time of year..

The beach to the right of the old pier, as you face the sea, is really peaceful and a great place to watch all the birds that are flying in to rest on the pier. There are also flamingos in the marshes that run along the back of the beach.
We went Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. There seemed to be many families enjoying some time by the sea, with small kids jumping about in the surf.
There is a promenade, accessible from a couple of points along the beach or from the main road. There are various statues of military heroes and some old bits of military equipment such as tanks and planes...it seemed a bit surreal, but interesting!

I'd advise people to expect the beach to not necessarily be clean, as I'm unsure if any regular beach maintenance is done out of the tourist season. Also, the manager of our hostel advised not to carry anything obviously valuable, especially not to wear any expensive jewellery. We didn't feel unsafe at any time and there are regular security patrols on the promenade, but it is a large beach, sparsely populated, so it's best to play it safe and carry as little as possible and perhaps not go alone.

Nice for walks if you end up in Pisco

The place is quiet, great for slow walks. Does not seem very cozy in the evenings due to few people there. October is off season period. Most of bars and restaurants closed.

A rocky beach with lots of washed up trash and dead things
Nov 2015 • Solo
There are better beaches. This one features loose dogs foraging among the dead things and the trash and fishing boats that do not seem seaworthy

Uncrowded beach with a lot of birds
Oct 2015 • Solo
Hardly anyone was there apart from a handful of runners, walkers and anglers and there are no restaurants etc. so it was very peaceful. There were a lot of sea birds both in the sea and in the little saltmarshes further up. The area is quite neglected, the sea wall and the pier are damaged, some structures are also about to collapse into the sea - people are probably focussed on rebuilding the city after the earthquake instead of renovating this area. Apart from that, it is a great place with nice and fairly clean sand, only about 15 mins walk from the Plaza de Armas.
