About
Valle Nevado is South America's premier ski resort, offering access to the largest amount of terrain and the most modern lift system on the continent. The Valle Nevado complex provides a complete experience, including boutique shops, three hotels, private apartments, six restaurants, a full-service spa and fitness center, cinema, library, bars and lounges, a pub with live music, a kids entertainment center and a state-of-the-art events venue, all set to the breathtaking backdrop of the magnificent Andes. Located just 90 minutes from Santiago, Valle Nevado offers 2,200 acres of varied terrain, and 17 lifts including the country's only gondola. Due to the resort's orientation and altitude at 9,924 feet, Valle Nevado on average receives the most snow of Central Valley resorts, with a seasonal average of 300+ inches. Short lift lines and few people on the slopes provides days of powder skiing after a storm. The resort has a terrain park, plenty of side and backcountry terrain, and guests spending 7 nights at the resort receive 2 interconnect tickets to neighboring resorts, opening a staggering 7,000 acres of terrain. The adventurous can book heli-skiing directly at the resort, a truly spectacular experience with vertical drops of up to 5,000 feet in one run. The 2017 season runs from June 23 to September 22. Join the resort for the 2nd Annual Chile Wine Festival from Aug. 18 - 24.

We were part of a group that booked at Valle Nevado from August 14 to August 21, but due to flight cancellations and restricted travel due to the Corona Virus we had to cancel in May. Turns out they never opened due to the Virus. The refund policy was clearly stated that as a group we might get a $150 cancellation fee per person (we were ok with this), but to date we have not received any refund (at least $1650 per person out of $1800 paid, and are being told to wait 6 months. Totally unacceptable! The booking was made by a travel agent so we have been unable to communicate directly. Don't book with them, we are concerned that we will never see our money.

My preferred ski resort, good trails but disorganized, not sure what the problem is with management. In spite of limited number of skiers you have to wait for everything. One bathroom upstairs, everything closed downstairs.
Removed vending machines, closed restaurants, very long lines. The restaurant near the hotel and ski school was the most absurd. I was amazed how so many staff (more staff than guests) can avoid actually serving guests. They never brought my pizza after 30 minutes - but somehow it showed up on the bill. I could have washed all the dishes and poored my own beer in the time it took to find someone to take my order. Nobody on the staff knew the wifi code "valle2021" - really! I swear you have to try very hard to be this incompetent - the manager of this place deserves a medal for having the most caotic mess of a restaurant with empty tables I have ever seen. The skiing was fun in spite of the effforts of the management to make us never want to give them money again.

Accommodations are good. The hotel infrastructure is good and the ski resort is very large. The restaurants serve excellent food.
However, at the end of July it was difficult to find a place to sit for lunch, it was very crowded. Service is slow, even when delivering your drink. The prices are really high, a 500 ml glass of beer costs around 50 reais.
In 2023 the temperature was very high, which made the room very hot, even when the heating was turned off. I had to leave the window open and it was difficult because the humidifier wasn't enough, the air there is extremely dry, even for those who are used to BrasÃlia, it's difficult to sleep.
As for the trails, I found them poorly signposted and advertised, what was open and what wasn't, where I was, where to go. There is no cable car from the hotel to Baxo Zero, having to go down to the initial cable car to get up, and it was not uncommon to wait an hour in line. Which wastes a lot of time, not to mention that for those with small children it's bad, you have to take a bus to get down to the place where the cable cars depart.
Another thing is that I was playing in the snow with babies next to the hotel, close to the ski school and I was kicked out by the employee, saying that it was forbidden to stay there without equipment, as no one went there with skis. I saw other people being kicked out too.
This same employee said there was nowhere to play in the snow. After talking to someone else I discovered that I could play next to the Baxo Zero bar.
At the ski school, they didn't let my youngest daughter play in the kids' area while I took care of the oldest daughter who was taking lessons.
In the end I had an expensive and average experience. I went because there is a direct plane from Floripa and with children it is an easier trip, I shouldn't return, at least while the children are young

Mind boggled by how this resort operates. Website only allowed us to book Tues-Fri– We arrived there Monday having been able to book a one night at the same hotel. Cool but they charged us the wrong amount. They came back and asked us to pay an additional charge. Cool, it happens. Then they came back and said they made a mistake– they actually need to charge us a few hundred dollars more. Asked to speak to a manager... They put me on the phone with reservations instead–they said they had no ability to change the charge amount only reservations could. On the phone reservations said they couldn't change the amount because it was confirmed... even though we hadn't checked in. On-site supervisor could help us... 3 hours later, I finally breakdown and question what the smoke is going on?? I've never felt so bamboozled in my life.
This is coming from someone who never writes reviews and who believes in just being as respectful as possible no matter the situation.
Mountain, amazing. It's sad I will forego this experience for as long as I can remember it.

Worst tourist experience of my life. I traveled with my family to Chile and scheduled myself to celebrate my eldest daughter’s birthday in Valle Nevado. I am not a skier and my daughters had only one previous experience. I chose to buy a Ski Day Newbie for both. Even knowing that I would pay more for the equipment rent, I believed I would have a premium experience for them. For me and my girlfriend we bought the gondolas because we didn't ski.
Two days before we already received messages that the gondolas were broken and the money would be returned if so preferred ($133). I have sent several emails and I do not receive a return and the return did not appear on the card.
On the day of the tour, we arrived around 9 o'clock at the Resort. We found a chaotic situation. People cheating information with each other and no staff to guide. Mixed queues, people not knowing if they were in the right or wrong queue, etc. Despite the voucher purchased for the Ski Day ($187) we had to take 1h and 30min in queue to validate something already purchased on the site. And the same line of people who wanted to buy on time. When I was finally attended, they informed that there were not enough teachers and that the class booked for 11h (days earlier on the site), could only be done at 13h. I argued that I could not have class at that time because of the transfer back and that I would have to do at least at 12:00. It would still have to face a row of about 40min for the equipment and another another 40min for the transfer of buses (because the gondolas broken).
In the end I chose not to. The attendant noted my request, said that I would request the return and instructed me to send email too (I already sent several and no response). I didn't have any formalities and I have over $300 to receive.
In the end there is no benefit in buying in advance and you are treated much worse than the vacationer who chooses to rent equipment in any store on the way. Come, book classes and have fun. You who chooses to close with the company is treated made a dog.
After all, we only had lunch at the hotel restaurant. Do not waste your time going to Valle Nevado if you rely on their service.

Bad experience!
Disorganized place! I heard that the current company has lost the concession and is providing very bad and disrespectful service. People pay expensive!
I paid for a ski class for my son that started with 1 hour delay and the teacher was still mega careless with people. It is worth noting that those who are in class have no idea what to do! If you are there it is for a safe and positive experience.
They have no respect for the tourist, the queues for registration are huge and this reduces the time the tourist has to enjoy the place. The gondola was not working and did not return the money and you can not do anything else if you are not skiing. Horrible place!
It's not worth the experience.

I do not evaluate anything here that relates to skiing. We went to see Valle Nevado station. We arrived at the parking lot and were warned that if we wanted to go to some better restaurant, we would have to climb a few curves to the highest part (where the hotels are located). And then come down. Worse experience. Not recommended for people with reduced mobility, weak heart or children. A walking climb on the side of the road, on the ground (asphalt edge). Even if we wanted to pay for climbing we could (there is a car that only serves skiers for climbing and descending). I think it's about 4 curves and over 1km (in altitude). That's at the height of the winter season. How unprepared. Good restaurants, nice hours. Good bathrooms, shops, beautiful views. In the photo, 1/3 of the way on foot, on the edge of the asphalt, to the top. Total disappointment!

Beautiful but disorganized place. I went on 08/22/2023 with my girlfriend, they sold us the ticket worth 110,000 pesos, but the park didn't open, on the same day they said that the refund request had been made and that it would take 7 to 12 days for us to receive it.
It's been 30 days and still nothing, they don't respond to emails or social media and so far no justification for resolving my problem.
The 0800 number here in Brazil doesn't answer, anyway. What was a dream was ruined, I paid a lot to not enjoy it and the least they could do was give me my money back but they didn't do it and they even lied saying that the refund request had already been made.
I do not recommend!

Although the snow is very good, the quality of the human service leaves much to be desired, from information to skiers regarding possible problems in the lifts/lifts, equipment rental, as well as the lack of gastronomic variety for the skiers. visitors, without taking into account the excessive cost of access. Everything suggests that taking care of the skier/tourist/visitor/client is not important or necessary, there is more to come.

I went with my wife and two children for a day of skiing. The place is very beautiful.
Even though it was outside the school holidays, the queues were huge and there was no information. Long queues for everything: ski lift, entrance, equipment, information. They sold us a package of classes for the children without telling us that there was a queue of more than 2 hours to collect the equipment and in the end we missed class time. They didn't want to give our money back or take us to the only restaurants in the area without paying for the ski lift (even though we had been there almost the whole day in lines and without eating).
The staff was divided into two types: those super stressed trying to deal with the terrible organization and chaos of the place, without being able to do anything, and those who genuinely didn't care and weren't interested in helping.
All this at more expensive prices than ski resorts in Europe. First world prices and third-party organization.

Is Valle Nevado in between La Parva and El Colorado? I can't seem to find a map that shows all 3 areas in one.
It seems to me to make sense to stay in the middle one to be able to ski all 3 but maybe not?
