The beach is very beautiful. I went with my family, on this day the sea didn't have very strong waves. Warm water sea, as it usually is in the Northeast region, many umbrellas available that we paid for by consuming on site. Bathroom available, delicious food and cold beer.

Beautiful beach.....wonderful scenery to take photos..

Deep beach, you have to be careful...

Look for Bar Cocô Verde, next to Artur's bar...

Artur's bar is just famous....very expensive....

The Cocô Verde bar....Look for Rayane (Ray), more affordable prices.....better than Bar do Artur.....

I love Calhetas!! It's about an hour's drive from Recife and is really the easiest of the "Postcard" beaches in Pernambuco to reach... further away is Porto de Galinhas... Calhetas has a couple of little barzino's with really fine food... it's a protected cove with pristine water, surrounded one side by huge boulders and on the other dramatic cliffs. You can hike up the cliffs and get an incredible vista overlooking the sea from the top. A great day trip. Beware that the last couple of miles of road is pretty rough! But, it's worth it.

This beautiful small beach is surrounded by hills and one can take a walk from Gaibu to the rocks to the hills to down the hill to arrive at the beach – take a few snacks at Arthur if you feel hungry & thirsty! Recife youngsters enjoy to go to this beach on week-ends, but may be tiresome and troublesome for short time tourists because of poor infrastructure, poor roads poor transportation, poor approach. Government should improve the infrastructure to attract tourists and if done, the tourists shall enjoy the area. Water is clear, little warm but appears deep a little distance away with sharp slope! No comparison to Boa Viagem Beach!

The place is harder to get to by car than i expected. It´s a nice beach but a little run over by the restaurants, which spoil the site a little. The food is good though, and folk are friendly.. and the waves are huge.

Ver Quaint place. Much more than the other beaches. Beautiful protected areas and ruins around! Near the capital, it takes around 40 min to get there. I heard the surroundings have been a little dangerous lately, after they developed the oil business there!

Very calm and small beach. Not very easy to park there, but totally worth it. Not recommended for people with severe disabilities, because you have to walk a steep path to get there (there are handrails though). There is a zip-line with a beautiful view.

This beach is even more beautiful when you look at it from the above -- you can do it along the access road.

This is a small beach. It should be much better to enjoy it during the week, when there's much less people there.

Access road is dirt but that’s no big deal to reach the beach.

The beach is too small and the sand is thick. The restaurant has a nice food, but the service is extremely slow and inefficient. The bathroom is clean.
Don't get the service of "Luck Receptivo" (the main travel agency of the region), it's very expensive and they fool the clients.
