Underground cellars nice and cool on hot day - it's the old water storage reservoir. Interesting water orientated exhibits and usually some unrelated exhibitions. Free to enter, pleasant guides, but would help to have someone in you group that speaks Portuguese.

It's definitely a nice place, but there is lack of information about it. One doesn't know when it's open or closed.

We didn't have much time in the city and chose to visit this museum over others. No charge to enter and we were given a free tour by a friendly guide (in Portuguese). It's a unique space (probably its best asset). We saw exhibits of old water pipes & showerheads, handicrafts from the region, a display of objects and photographs of indigenous cultures and a photo display that takes you back through the history of Cuiabá. We weren't too sure if all exhibits were permanent or if some were rotational. Nice diversity in exhibits for someone who didn't have much time, but it's not the place to get an in depth look at the culture and/or region. Exhibits were basic and the guide basically said the same thing that we could have read on the displays themselves.…
