Starting in 2015 Island Watersports now offers boat sales, service, rentals, and storage. The area's only full service marina! Maryland and Delaware's largest rental boat fleet. Island Watersports offers pontoon boats, fishing boats, speed boats, and jet boats. We also offer brand new jet skis to rent as well as paddle boards and kayaks. The jet boats include new Scarab jet boats. The jet boats are the SAFEST boats for families and watersports. Jet boats do NOT have a propeller in the rear of the boat and instead are driven by a jet of water. Propellers will cause injury if a swimmer comes in contact, the lack of a propeller leaves the jet boats as the safest boats for watersports! Island Watersports is also the area's only business with wakeboard, skiing, kneeboard, and tube rentals and lessons.

Great first time renting a pontoon boat (in MD)!
Our group of 9 (including a 15 month old) rented a pontoon for 4 hours. We were nervous it might be too long for the baby, but we actually loved every minute.
We booked it on a Wednesday for a Friday (it was as early as we could get) during a busy, hot week.
They have you arrive 30 mins early to fill out a ton of paperwork. The desk girls are super organized and very helpful. We had to get a temporary MD boating listened - easy to get, just lots of signing your life away.
The boat was very new and well taken care of. The dock hand gentlemen explained things clearly (we just wish they had us start it ourselves so we knew what to do while we were out in the water).
Easy, nice ride around the bay. You can go all the way down to seacrets. We hung our feet off the side for a little. Other groups were anchoring and swimming. We had difficulty restarting after taking a break (totally our fault) but otherwise had a great time.
When returning, the guys were super helpful and nice.
We will def be back again next year!

This is the third time I have rented a boat from Island Watersports and they have yet to disappoint. We rented a brand-new tri-toon boat over the weekend and it was clean, smooth, and fun. The staff at Island Watersports are professional, kind, and respectful and made the process seamless. We will continue to rent boats from Island Watersports during our subsequent trips to the beach. Keep up the great work and have a good summer!

We really enjoyed our experience. Tour guides escorted us out and took us around the parameters. There’s a big open space in which we were able to enjoy ourselves and go at top speeds. When I fell into the water they came right over to assist, which was a comforting feeling even though turned out to be unnecessary. The ski jets have a little ladder in back making it fairly easy to get back on. We continued to enjoy the rest of our time on the jet skis. I look forward to renting with them again!

I can not speak for their rental section, so I have nothing negative to say about that part. However their marine mechanical department is poor at best. They have young kid parts replacers as mechanics. I had over $3,000 worth of upholstery done that they sub contracted to another marina. When they returned the boat to us it was filthy dirty. They left the boat outside uncovered they didn't do anything to protect the upholstery while they did mechanical work. The owner Mike said that it was only uncovered for 2 weeks yet the boat was covered in leaves which most likely would have been from the fall. I had to power wash it myself and scrub the interior. In addition they did over $3,000 worth of engine work. When we went to pick the boat up it would not start. They eventually got it started so we could get it back to our dock.
The next day when I went out to start it would not start. We had to tow the boat back to their facility. They did a make shift repair by disconnecting power tilt and trim controls at the console so that the ignition would work. They also installed a new ignition without my permission which I paid for anyways.
Once I got the boat back to our dock for the second time. I realized that none of my gauges, GPS, depth finder or radio worked. There happened to be a mechanic working on my neighbors boat, I asked him if he could look at my boat. Within 20 minutes he had everything working and said that Island Water Sports messed up my wiring.
I would not recommend them, use at your own risk. For all you old OC boat owners you know how they used to be, well they are returning back to their old ways.
My mistake, I paid for the upholstery before I ever saw it. I paid for the mechanical bill before we picked up the boat. They added a $107.00 Ignition switch without my permission just before we picked up at the boat and overcharge us $251.00 but later gave us a credit.
The next day when I went out to start it would not start. We had to tow the boat back to their facility. They did a make shift repair by disconnecting power tilt and trim controls at the console so that the ignition would work. They also installed a new ignition without my permission which I paid for anyways.

Top notch operation! This was my family’s first outing on our own (we have been on boats owned by family/friends) as well as our first time renting and the experience was flawless. Staff (Andrew at check in and Blake on the docks) were super friendly, very professional and answered any questions I had. The tri-toon boat was in great condition and any imperfections it had were already properly noted prior to my inspection. My whole family had an incredible time and it was a “highlight of the summer” day. Out on the Bay I never felt cramped in by the area of operation restriction as it was a very large area. My 4 hour rental went by in a flash and next time I will probably rent for a longer period of time so that we can explore and anchor down in more areas. I will definitely return in the future and highly recommend Island Watersports to anyone who is interested in a seamless experience out on the water.

We have been using Island Watersports for their jet ski rentals and gas dock every summer for many years. Their staff is always courteous and friendly, and we feel they are the safest, most professional watersports activity operator in the area.
JET SKIS
Island starts every season with a brand new fleet of high end Sea Doo PWCs, unlike their competitors. Their guides are great and do their best ensure the safety of families with young riders. The riding area is large and well marked and the trip to the open bay gives renters a chance to get familiar with the watercraft.
GAS DOCK
After filling our boat with bad gas at the marina across the way (what a nightmare), I will only fill our boat at Island Watersports when in the Fenwick area. The guys at the gas dock are friendly and super helpful, and the prices are reaonable.
After dealing with the rest, Island stands out as a safe, professional and well-run business.

Stopped by Sunday morning July 25, 2021 and had a great experience from start to finish. The young ladies inside at sign up were professional and courteous with a dash of humor. My guide was very thorough and to a genuine interest in making sure I had a great and safe time. He even gave me props on my skills. Hey, someone had to tame those swells. I highly recommend Island Water Sports for your fun action attraction. The equipment is top notch and super fun. rental

Rented a Tri-toon boat on Sunday. The customer service was awesome! The instructions couldnt have been any better and the entire crew was so accommodating and knowledgeable. The pricing is fair and the boat was practically new. Highly recommend Island Watersports if you are in need of a boat to rent for the day.

The Staff was very professional and the 2022 pontoon boat was in great shape. We toured the bay and went to Seacrets. We have rented pontoon boats from Island Watersports 10 or 12 times over the last 5 years and have always been impressed by the staff and the boats.

They sent us knowing the bay was very rough...too rough for a jet boat. We had a 2 hour rental. 45 minutes into the rental we lost 1/2 the power in the engine. We had to limp back. Told the employees and basically told me "oh well. Too bad!" I expected a 50% refund! Not good

We've rented a pontoon boat for this coming Sun. With the high heat index predicted, we wondered if pontoon boats have a cover (like a canvas top that can be popped up) to put up for protection against the sun -- at least something to provide some shade when needed. Tx!

What kind of license or training do you need to rent a pontoon or center console boat, and are any required skills available via on site lessons?

All you need is a drivers license. We've give you a 15 minute brief on the boat to get you familiar with it and how it operates. Of course a boaters license course will provide you with extra knowledge which is always helpful. Some of those courses are available online free of charge.

I will have two young children, age 2 and 5. Do you have lifevests for them? Also, i was thinking of a two hour rental because of the children. If they are doing well, is it possible to just stay out for the four hours? Or can I book for 4 hours, and if it doesn't work out, get a refund for the extra hours?

Yes, we have lifevest for infants all that way to XXL for large adults. We can schedule for 2 hours and extend to 4 as long as no one is scheduled on the boat after you. If you were to book for 4, we can not refund for early returns.
