Having been to Germany before and sampled the food there, I can proudly say that not only does this venue have a great view of Seneca Lake, but it has authentic German cuisine that will satisfy any palate. German food at its finest here in NY!

I became aware of Castel Grisch after moving to the Rochester, NY area and happening across their Johannisberg Riesling which has become one of our favorite affordable local whites. When looking into places to take my mother for a special lunch, I decided to try out Castel Grisch despite mixed reviews I'd found. I was especially worried about my toddler,... More

The staff and service was excellent. The atmosphere was great.. It may be out of the way but very well worth the trip. The food was great and I highly recommend that you at least check it out.

Overall, I highly recommend Castel Grisch. The winery restaurant is open for dinner only on Friday and Saturday, although lunch is available daily. We chose the German buffet, rather than ordering from the menu. The buffet is a little pricey ($26.95), but everything was absolutely delicious so it was worth it! Castel Grisch is on the west side of Seneca... More

We found Castel Grish on-line. We went to the resaurant to have dinner. we sat outside on the balcony. It was excellent. We don't have German food were we live, so it was a real treat.

The last time we were there, they were out of the Chardonnay Ice Wine. It is very popular. You need to get it in late April or early May! We were there just a few days too late!

The wine was great but I was disappointed that the restaurant is only open for dinner on Friday and Saturday.
