Disappointing business practice
Oct 2020 • Friends
My family and I enjoyed visiting the cute boutique. We bought several items to support the producers. We were dismayed to return home and find out that the bottle of Le Gourmand Quercynois Vinaigre Balsamique aux Figures & Spices, supposedly 350ml, only contained 150ml. The bottle is deliberately made of heavy ceramic and sealed with wax so the unsuspecting tourist will not discover the fraud until she is far away. Disappointed at the dirty business practice.

Nice place, but perhaps over-rated by some

Popped into this shop in S-C-Lapopie (which incidentally is an amazing village) after seeing many good reviews. Bought a few items and enjoyed our visit, but it seemed pretty much average for this type of tourist shop selling local produce and interesting local wines. Please pop in by all means - worth a visit but don't expect too much.

Harassed by Emilie
Oct 2018 • Couples
Inside there are stairs leading up to a restaurant above so I walked up to view it however, on returning downstairs, Emilie, the tall woman with short dark hair, (I assume she is the Manager) confronted and accused me of ignoring her , saying she told me the Restaurant was closed, as I ascended the stairs.

1. I obviously had not heard her
2. If it was closed why didn't she have a CLOSED sign blocking the stairs?
3. If it was such an issue why didn't she follow me up the stairs and tell me?

The shop, though interesting is expensive and I naturally did not buy anything after that incident and will be advising others we know to stay clear.

Make it a priority!

If you’re already in the incredible and majestic village of SCL- you’ve already had the wind knocked out of you. Stop here for a beautiful bottle of wine to ground you. The cave is beautiful with thousands of regional products and wonderful bottles of wine. The staff are knowledgeable and simply, as sweet as can be. Make this city and the Musee a priority in your visit to the mid-Pyrenees!

One of the highlights of our visit - and I'm from California wine country!

When my sister wanted to enter this store I was a bit skeptical, thinking it would be a tourist trap. I could not have been more wrong. The owner, Emilie, and her staff welcomed us with warm and genuine hospitality. We sampled saffron jellies, delicious wines, foie gras, and other items from the nearby region. Emilie speaks fluent English and was a delight. "This wine is for friends, this wine is for a nice dinner, and this wine is for when you are all alone as it is too good to share!" she joked as she showed us the different wines, all of which were delicious.

Take a moment to stop in this store... you'll be glad you did.

We shopped at this location. Abby provided us assistance in English and was patient and informative in allowing us a tasting and giving background information on many of the wines.

Worth visiting for the best comestibles in France
May 2016 • Solo
The products they sell are outstanding in every respect. Foie Gras, Truffle flavored oil, violet flavored mustard, saffron strop, chocolate powdered walnuts... And oh la la, the chocolate covered Sauternes grapes are TO DIE FOR. Great place to find gifts to take home (as are the Petit Musee next door and Trouvailes en Quercy in Tour de Faure; all under the same Management). Emilie and Celine are wonderful staff who are eager to help and very welcoming. You will NOT be disappointed!

The staff are incredibly knowledgable about the region's wines and history. The store is also teeming with delicious local products and of course the delicious Cahors wines. Definitely worth a visit.

Worth a visit

A fun place where you can test your sense of smell, then buy some good local wines and other souvenirs. The raisins soaked in sweet wine then coated in chocolate are delicious.
