Zanzibar: Private Stone Town Walking Tour

It’s fascinating to explore historic Stone Town—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—but it’s easy to lose your way in the area’s maze-like, narrow streets. To stay oriented and ensure you don’t miss key highlights, join a private guide with deep knowledge of local culture. It’s fully personalized to your preferences, whether you’re shopping for local textiles, interested in history, or learning about Stone Town’s unique architecture.

This shop has more than souvenirs- they carry gifts that will become treasured keepsakes. I am so glad that I did some research before my trip and found this gem. I was able to bring some specific coins from home that have special significance to me. I bought two coins from the shop that were already made and then I left two coins for them to make with special inscriptions. They took my information and said they would be mailed out to me within a few days. Due to customs and such it took a few weeks to reach me at home but I was so very pleased with their work. One was sent off as a gift to a friend who truly loved it and the other was for me. I wear it all the time and it is a great reminder of my wonderful time in Africa. Asante Sana.

Having done a little research arrived in Stone Town, with a number of old coins from home. We went to the Coin Shop early Sunday spent about 40 -50 minutes deciding on exactly what we wanted all up we got 6 coins done with everything from Letters to Rhinos. We went back late Tuesday picked them up and were more then happy with what we had. Although a little on the expensive side we were happy to pay and have some unique gifts for people. A must visit while in stone town

I was fortunate enough this summer to do some volunteer work in Zanzibar, and I have been searching for something that can remind me of everyone and everything over there (I am from the states)... and then I came across The Coins Shop online. The jewelry here- well, it speaks for itself. Not only is their craftsmanship alone incomparable to any other work or previous experience I have had with coin jewelry, but the service they dedicate to their customers is 100% held to the highest standard, it honestly is the main reason why I am writing this review. Even a customer like me- just a student from Ohio on the other side of the world. They contacted me for weeks (super understanding of my busy schedule) and helped me find a ring that looked the way I wanted it to and fit properly since the first one did not with no hesitation at all whatsoever. After so much communication, patience, work, and at no additional cost- the owners simply wanted me to be happy with their product and I am so ordering from this place again. I am beyond excited and even HONORED to have something on my hand that now not only reminds me of my volunteering experience in Tanzania but now these incredible local artisans that put their heart, work, and time on the line for me- even if we are over 8,000 miles away. Words cannot express the level of love and gratitude I have towards this shop. Long review but I want everyone to know how incredible this place is! Asante sana!!!
