Great Place for a Jungle Vibe
Lake Manyara National Park is a great place to stop along the way while driving from Tarangire National Park to the Serengeti. There is more of a jungle feeling here than at Tarangire or Serengeti. I saw a lot of monkeys, such as Blue Monkeys, Baboons and Vervet Monkeys. They are entertaining to watch. The lake had Flamingos and Hippos, although a bit too far out for good photos. The scenery was gorgeous, and we stopped at a nice picnic area with stunning views.

They making our trip to Tanzania better that we could have imagined.
We had a wonderful 3 day Safari experience with Halisi African adventures. The communication via WhatsApp and overall organization was perfect. After arrival in Arusha Matt brought us to the Mvuli Hotel. From here we started next morning to Tarangire National Park with hundreds of animals. The Ngorongoro Crater was even more amazing due to the fantastic landscape. The final day we spend at Lake Manyara National Park. A special thanks to our guide Jackson, who not only has been very knowledgeable about everything we have been interested in but also is a very friendly and open minded person showing.

    Lake Manyaras Sunset remain unforgettable!
Our six-day safari with Tanzania Horizon Safaris, specifically our time at Lake Manyara National Park, was an absolute delight. Lake Manyara unfolded before us and Tanzania Horizon ensured every moment was exceptional. The park's picturesque scenery, combined with the wonderful birdlife, provided a real backdrop to our adventure. Our guide, Sabas, was a true expert, skillfully navigating us through the park while sharing fascinating insights into the unique ecosystem. From the famed tree-climbing lions to the kaleidoscope of bird species, Lake Manyara National Park came alive with Tanzania Horizon Safaris. The attention to detail, both in the safari experience and the beautiful accommodations, showcased the company's commitment to excellence and we always felt well taken Care of. For an enchanting journey into the heart of Lake Manyara's wonders I really recommend taking enoigh time. Minimum 2 days will be perfekt. Thanks to Tanzania Horizon Safaris for all your help

    A nice change of pace
This was a nice change of pace from the other, drier parks that we visited during our safari. We took a canoe ride on the lake. While we did see hippos from the boat, they were not very close. It was just something different to do, and a different view of the area. Yes, we saw elephants, zebras and many of the other animals we saw in other parks, but what was different was the number of baboons, which we did not see elsewhere. Watching them groom and interact was very interesting.

Please don't drive straight by on your way to the other more famous areas
Well worth a stop on the way to the more famous areas as although the lake flooded a few years back leaving it a little alkaline and with no flamingoes there is still plenty of wildlife to see. We took a canoe out and came across a group of Hippos as well as a number of different birds ranging from Swallows to African Fish Eagle, the canoe team were amazing. We stayed at Manyara Green Camp which is well worth checking out

Small but very beautiful national park
Our safari at Lake Manyara with Tanzania Horizon Safaris was unforgettable! Our group of 5 friends had a fantastic time exploring the park's incredible wildlife and breathtaking scenery. We spotted elephants, hippos, and even tree-climbing lions. The overnight stay at Manyara Heritage Lodge was perfect, offering comfortable accommodations and stunning views. The staff were friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. I so much loved the swimming pool, overlooking the lake! Highly recommend this adventure for anyone visiting Tanzania!

Overall my expectations were exceeded all around, and it is clear they have been doing this for a long time.
We had a fantastic safari with Halisi African Adventures and safari guide John. We visited Lake Manyara, Tarangire abd Ngorongoro. We travelled with children and they were taken care of in a great way. To be able to show them the African wildlife close up was a success. John knew how to give us the best possible views of the big five and both a leopard and lions hunting. He was very attentive to our wishes for perfect placings for exeptional photo opportunities. We were also very well taken care of at the different places we stayed at and We would definitely recommend Halisi African Adventures to those who wish to make the same safari as we did.

We had been to Lake Manyara NP many years ago and were very disappointed on our return visit now. The lake has flooded so a lot of roads are cut-off so we couldn’t get close to the lake or the hippo pool and the rest of the roads were in a very poor state. Added to that the credit card machine was not operational at the entrance and after a long delay we had to go to a bank’in Mbo wa Mtu to pay. Not really worth the visit

We spent one night at Lake Manyara during a time when the lake was so flooded most of the roads were closed, causing a lot less wildlife viewing. We did see more monkeys up close here than in other parks we visited. There was a section of road right by the water that had fabulous bird life if you could stay and watch a while, but the tse tse flies were so bad, that made it not much fun. For this particular trip with the flooded state of the lake, if we had to do it again, we would've spent another night in Ndutu instead. But if you're planning far in advance (like you normally have to do with Tanzania, but thanks to COVID we planned 6 weeks before) you can't really tell if the lake will be full....it is a very forested area, making viewing a bit more difficult. We did see plenty of giraffes, a couple elephants, and some antelope.

We traveled to Tanzania for our holiday and went on an incredible safari organized by Halisi African Adventures.
They organized an incredible itinerary for us and they were incredibly responsive, giving us all the information we needed to ensure we were prepared for a great trip.
We spent 8 days traveling through Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, Empakaai walking safari & Lake Eyasi - seeing an amazing variety of animals and staying at beautiful lodges in the evening.
Our guide, Brighton really elevated the safari to another level - he had incredible knowledge of the area and a great ability to spot animals, in addition to being a blast to spend time with and extremely organized (he knew our itinerary better than we did).
The whole thing was perfect - if you want to see Tanzania the right way, definitely book a safari with Halisi African Adventures!

Lake Manyara NP was probably the low point of a two-week safari to Tanzania. The park is smallish and offers limited wildlife. Flamingos are hardly to be seen and only at great distance. The only upside is the nearby village of Mto wa Mbu which offers interesting insights into everyday life.

We booked 6 days camping safari with Halisi African Adventures and was extremely pleased with my experience.
Everything from the vehicle, tents, food, and sightseeing provided me with an adventure that I will always remember.
Our guide Frank knew all the right places to go to see the animals in action. They provided fabulous meals throughout the trip. This safari covered so much area of Tanzania, but each location provided new experiences.
The campgrounds were well maintained and clean. I loved the camping experience and after 5 nights of camping at various locations, we ended near Lake Manyara in a very lovely campground for the final night. I saw everything from lions to cheetahs, birds to hippos, zebras, and elephants. In addition, I got to see how the Maasi people live in the environment. I highly recommend using this Halisi African Adventures for maximum experience.

This small reserve, has varied eco systems from forest to swampy lake side. It is a good birding destination and there is a variety of primates in the forest. Elephant, lion and buffalo are generally spotted. When we visited at the end of the rainy season some of the roads near the lake were impassible limited our viewing.

Large amounts of rain in 2020 increased the size of the lake by almost 50%. Some of the "roads" are now washed out, but that didn't alter my view of this park. It was a change of pace from the other parks I had already visited in that it had a lot more foliage. Spotting animals is a little more difficult. I did see a number of animals including baboons, elephants, impalas, buffalo and giraffes. There was at least one lion there because we saw his tracks, but we couldn't find it. If you like baboons, including babies, this park is for you. There is an abundance of baboons.

We have visited lake manyara today, very disappointed no pink flamingos, no tree climbing lions either. Very forestry. I think we seen 4 zebra, a group of wildebeest, Thompson gazelle , lone warthog, loads of monkeys all over and then the elephants shown up on our way to the exit. I would not recommend this park and it’s very forestry, very hard to see any animals if they’re in the wooded areas.

Thick vegetation means it is very hard to ee wildlife. Saw an elephant cross the road into the vegetation and 2 seconds in he had disappeared. That is how thick it is.

Due to heavy rains the lake was much fuller than usual so there were no animals or birds in it and so I didn't see an hippos or flamingoes. The highlight was seeing baboons and zebras. To be honest it wasn't worth the trip after seeing Tarangire and if you go I would spend a MAXIMUM of half a day here.

Also the bathrooms either had no soap or soap that had been watered down so much it was no longer soap. Frankly unacceptable in the current climate of COVID.
