Really worthwhile visit, knowledgeable guides and a friendly atmosphere. The kids enjoyed looking around and I loved being so close to a 747. Would recommend.

This is not a slick, well polished display, it is a labour of love by passionate aviationists who were more than eager to share decades of experience and fascinating insights into the proud history of SAA. We spent a very happy couple of hours watching...More

Not a massive museum - but a mecca if you are an aviation enthusiast. Most of the exhibits are stored outside. Nice to be able to go inside both a B747 Jumbo and B737. A small hangar houses 3 or 4 other aircraft. Not all...More

Wow, what a great static display of Boeing 747’s, with DC 3 and DC 4, and so much more! Mind-boggling. Any aviation enthusiast will be blown away by the exhibits. Expert volunteers are eager to answer questions and there is lots to see and do....More

We made a special effort to get here as the website indicated that there was a relatively large selection of aircraft to look at. When we got there, there was only 6 aircraft on display, of which only 3 were of interest. I asked where...More

Hi Gadam_13, thanks for your feed back, I'm sorry you were disappointed. Our website does indeed indicate which aircraft are static display and which are operational. Our operational aircraft, a DC-3 and two DC-4s, are operated by Skyclass Aviation based at Rand Airport. The general...More

We're a volunteer organisation and try our best. The museum is a constant work in progress and yes activities for children are in the pipeline. It's a fine balance between restoring newly acquired exhibits, looking after/maintaining our existing exhibits and designing and building new ones....More

Anyone interested in planes will love this open air museum. Many old planes on display. Climb aboard an SAA plane, visit the cockpit, sit in the engine, experience its sheer size. Great for young kids, teens, Scouts, school groups etc
