We hired Ahmed for a private 8 day tour that included Toubkal and the high Atlas Mountains, the desert, including a camel ride into camp overnight, a tour of valleys, gorges and oasises throughout the south part of Morocco.
I cannot say enough about Ahmed. His personality, his ability to connect with people, his knowledge, no matter which town or area. A wealth of information. His network of people and places to stay that enhanced the experience. His preference for smaller, quality and more personal in accommodation was appreciated as it suited our style. More care. We put our complete trust in him/his decisions. He didn’t disappoint. His choices throughout made for an amazing experience. And, he engaged our teens throughout. He was always aware and organized.
He went out of his way when our teen daughter had altitude issues in Toubkal. He and his brother, Ibrahim, had their family/village take care of her. We felt loved.
They have become friends for life. Highly recommend them both.

For us this was a most amazing and personal experience. We went on a 5 day hike/ 7 day trip (around 15-20km hike per day) including the Jebel Serwa summit, we started from Marrakech and ended in Ouarzazate. Two months before we already contacted english speaking Chris and Ahmed to discuss our level of hiking and equipment that we needed/had. We could leave excess luggage in the gite we stayed the first night. Prices were discussed transparently, although take into account that you will need to dispense some drinkingmoney here and there. Prices were about 50-75 euro per day per person, everything included. When I say everything included, I mean really everything, with the best service one could get. We experienced the harvesting of saffron in the middle of nowhere, shared picknicks with nomads and sheep, enjoyed tea on the summit of Jebel Serwa, ate fresh bread from a village backery, ate apples from the trees, visited an amazing and well preserved and still in use Agadir/Ighrem (grainary). It was the best way to come in contact with the real berber life and understand what they were saying. We even learned a few songs on the way. Our guide Ibrahim made sure everything was ok for us at all time, the pace, the weather, sleeping arrangements,... He also modified the tour a bit, with our agreement, to make the summit climb more pleasant and to pass through iziwai because it was more beautiful. There were a lot of local sources of spring water but the mules carried also some big bottles we bought. Ibrahim made us a delicious variety of tagines and other food during the whole trip, we were always provided of berber whiskey. We slept a few nights in a tent that was provided and carried by the mules, we had a tent for dinner too. We slept in the most amazing places that we would otherwise have never seen or known. We want to thanks Ahmed, Chris, Ibrahim, Lahcen and Ibrahim once again to take us on this adventure. This tour certainly enriched our minds and hearths.

My husband and I had the pleasure to go on a five-day trek in the Atlas Mountains with Yassine (guide) and Hassan (cook) from the 8th-12th of april 2023.

It’s been a great experience from the very start. First, we were served mint tea, and they told us about the itinerary showing everything on a map.

The treks was well organized, and Yassine gave us information about the places, the altitude, and answered all of our questions. We visited many Berber-villages, as well as a waterfall and the amazing Jbel (Mount) Toubkal. He also adapted to our tempo and shape, so we never felt in a hurry, and we always felt safe. We got the needed time to rest between each activity.

They had booket all accommodation so we didn’t have to think about anything. The food also came at the very right time each day, both breakfast, lunch and dinner, and it was really, really tasty. Hassan is really an amazing cook and it’s maybe the best meals we’ve had so far in Morocco. We genuinely feel that this have been our highlight through our entire Moroccoan holiday, and we really hope to see Yassine and Hassan again.

Ahmed arranged a trip for Lois and me to travel from Marrakech to Fes and see much of Morocco. We are older travelers, both over 70, but active and eager for adventure. We traveled in a comfortable Toyota 4x4 and visited villages in the Atlas mountains. Ahmed is well known in these villages and lives in one of them so he was able to give us great detail about the Berber life and history in Morocco. We only speak english and Ahmed was fully capable of guiding us in english and teaching us many things about Morocco. Our first night stay was in a very nice guest house with private room and bathroom situated in a stunning gorge. We continued on ate in local restaurants and came to the Sahara. Another good accommodation on the edge of the dunes. We sat for the sunset, watched the camels, saw the stars at night and slept comfortably. We were driven through the trip by Ahmed’s hand picked driver Mohammed who was kind, careful and an asset to the trip. Our trip was designed to our requests and we would use Ahmed and his company for any future trip whether driving or trekking. We think he could arrange for an interesting and challenging trip for any age. He paid close attention to our safety and our needs and introduced us to a fascinating culture.

I did a 4 day, 3 night trek with family and friends. Our guide , Ahmed was very friendly and helpful. As a Berber local, his knowledge of the area, the Berber people and culture was excellent and our treks were interspersed with many conversations about their traditions and lifestyle.

Mohammed, our cook ( with the help of another Mohammed, his helper and muleteer) created the most amazing and varied meals in the traditional Berber style. They were delightful, healthy and always too much to eat! I was amazed at the way he could cook up such good food in these remote locations.
The three guys were always attentive and nothing was too much trouble.

Trek Atlas created a 7 day tour for my husband and I. And we can’t wait to return to tour with them again! Our guides, Hassan and Ahmed were fun to be with and excellent at what they do. Both guides had unusual situations that arose and they handled them extremely well! Our driver Salh who was with us in the desert is a super fun guy and an amazing driver. We just happened to be there when a flash flood occurred and his expertise turned something that could have been a bad experience into a fun adventure that has become one of our most favorite adventures to share with friends. We highly recommend this company who have become our new friends.

We found Ahmed through recommendations and were not disappointed. He planned every part of our week long hiking and desert trip, which was extra challenging as we had a 4 year old, 2 year old, and 9 month old. The guides, cooks, drivers, and lodgings were all selected with care and Ahmed was fully availble on WhatsApp to help out. The distance to the desert can be long and tiring, especially for young kids, so we were glad Ahmed had hired us an extra large vehicle and planned all our stops along the way. He takes his job extremely seriously and we felt he had our kids' interests in mind the entire time.

I cannot rate Trek Atlas and the people that work as part of Trek Atlas. Originally when we were planning our trip to Morroco my boyfriend and I knew that we would want to go and visit the Atlas Mountains. As a couple we enjoy walking and just want to be out in nature. I came across Trek Atlas after some googling and initially we wanted to climb Toubkal. However obviously the earthquake happened and that changed things. I had already been in close contact with Ahmed Zin who is a fantastic guy with brilliant communication as I was incredibly worried about his family and many others. We got in contact shortly after and change the plans to do the Two Valley walk instead. This walk was amazing we had two guides, one for the walk and one supporting with the mule and organisation. These guys Mohamed and Hussein were amazing it was effortless. We stayed in two guest houses and they were both brilliant too. Honestly we did a three day hike which had enough challenge in it for us and saw the beauty that is the Atlas Mountains but the main thing you will take away is how amazing the people really are. Not only our walking guys but all the villages we went to as well, just lovely. From a cost perspective they organised all food which included breakfast, lunch & dinner plus snacks. And the taxi from our hotel in Marrakesh to the Atlas Mountains. If your thinking about doing any Treks in the Atlas Mountains only do it with these guys.

We booked the 7 days roundtrip around Toubkal. Mohamed, the guide was very friendly and helpfull. We had a few problems with the altitude and he helped us getting over the passes. He showed us foxes and mountain squirrels. He was flexibel, when we decided to skip Toubkal because of the Attitüde and organised a nice relaxing alternative.
The cook Hussein transported our luggage with his mule, cooked very much and good food tree times a day and was musst of the times the first at the camping sites and got us the best places.

My wife and I went on a self guided hike to the top of Mazik pass (Tazi Mazik). Along the way, we came across a couple that was being guided by Ahmed from trekatlas.com. He made sure we knew where we were going, gave us some dates to eat, and when we got to the top of the pass, give us some tea. He could not have been nicer or more helpful. We were not even clients! Next time I come, I would definitely use them for a guiding service on the many multi day excursions in the area!
