We were staying in Marrakesh for a few days and arranged a 2 day trip into the Atlas Mountains with Mohamed. Making arrangements over the internet was easy without too many delays. Mohamed and his driver Mustapha picked us up from our riad and we visited the Ourika Valley, Imlil Valley and the Oukaimeden ski resort. Perhaps because it was January we didn't see as many of the birds we had hoped to see, Levaillant's Woodpecker was particularly elusive, but did see Moussier's Redstart, Black Wheatear, Barbary Partridge, Common Crossbill, Horned Lark, Sardinian Warbler and Long Legged Buzzard amongst others in truly breathtakingly beautiful mountain scenery. Our overnight accommodation in Aremd was basic but in a magnificent situation at the foot of Mount Toubkai. We also visited a berber family for lunch on the second day who were most hospitable and the food was excellent, some of the tastiest bread we have eaten. If you are thinking of a one or two day trip we can recommend Mohamed. You will learn a lot about the area, berber cultural as well as seeing some great birds.

Our driver found our Riad, on time, and swept us off to a day of nature, birding, cultural information and delicious lunch in a Berber village. Mohammed is friendly, knowledgable, helpful and patient (we are 75 and 82, and they helped us in the more difficult climbs). A great day out, saw many birds including the Moroccan redstart and a serenading nightingale. Highly recommended!

Great day out with Mountains Adventure. We did the birding tour which included birding in three different locations, a bit of hiking surrounded by beautiful nature and mountains, and an amazing lunch at Mohammed's house. Recommended.

Very enjoyable day out in the Atlas Mountains, think I had rotten luck with birds and didn't see or hear a huge amount. Perhaps March isn't a good month or the drought means they've moved on? That said I can't blame these chaps and the scenery and walking were spectacular so hugely enjoyed.

We chose to take a day trip from Marrakech with Mountains Adventure because of the great reviews here on TA and we were not disappointed. We did some birdwatching (which was the primary goal), but even though we only saw a few species we did have a couple of lovely walks in the mountain. We had lunch at Mohammed's home in his village - the food was excellent, better than the meals we got in expensive Marrakech restaurants! The whole experience of getting to learn a little about the Berber lifestyle and trekking through the village (built on a rocky outcrop where no cars could ever go) was fascinating.Even my teenage daughter enjoyed it! We will never forget it - thanks Mohammed!!!
