About
Established in 1989, we were the pioneers of this activity. In 1999 we converted our equipment to a unique solar electric system. We believe that taking care of the environment while enjoying what it has to offer is essential. Thousands of tourists have come to us for a great undersea adventure and we are so proud to be able to help non swimmers, paraplegics, celebrities and people of all ages enjoy the wonders under the sea. In shallow tropical waters that are protected inside the coral reef, divers are in 3 to 5 meters of water with even less above their heads. An underwater guide and 2 surface monitors take up to 8 clients on their 25 minute walk on soft sand avoiding any coral damage. After the dive all clients receive a complimentary Solar Sea Walk Dive Certificate and can view their underwater HD video and purchase a copy if they don't have their own camera. We were the first and are still proud to be the best in what we do. Come for your underwater adventure with us.

Be close enough to touch the fish, walk and jump in weightlessness - feels like you're in a Disney film

This was a great way to experience the underwater world, regardless of your swimming ability. The staff were great and it was lots of fun. I had a mild panic when I first went under, as I unexpectedly felt claustrophobic, but I soon relaxed and saw lots of tropical fish.

As we are not strong swimmers, we were looking for an activity that we could experience the under-water world without the need to swim. And this experience was perfect!

We met the crew at the beach in Grand Baie where they took us out to the unique solar platform in the sea. The boat crew and divers on the platform were brilliant, and really did make this experience even better! We were given a very thorough safety and instruction briefing so it was clear what would happen when we went under water. I was very nervous but the crew took care of me, were very reassuring and encouraging and helped me to face my fear! Without that, I would most likely have missed out on taking part in the activity.

Underwater, it is a different world! The walk takes place at a depth of about 3m for approx 20 minutes, which is plenty of time to see the wonderful variety of fish and coral. The divers are brilliant and look out for you under the water at all times - we always felt safe.

Although the USB with the videos on took a bit of time to produce (and was quite expensive) it is worth it to have such a great memory of our trip :)

Highly recommend!

Get on the boat at the beach but unlike some other activities we have been on there was a booking office and a toilet over the road.

Nice boat ride to the platform and very informative when there on the safety instructions and what will happen. Could see the other group first under the water. It was quick to get under the water and they helped when my son was scared but offered to go and feed the fish and then come back up to the boat but as soon as he was on the sea floor he loved it and stayed down there.

Only criticism is that there is no changing room on board or on land and as we were sticking around in Grand Baie we had to get changed on the beach.

We visited in the winter so the water was a bit cold but you get used to it after a couple of minutes. We saw a lot of nice fish and then they give you some bread to feed the fish. They also take videos of you underwater which you can then get within a USB after the experience. Overall was very nice and would definitely recommend it.

What an incredible unique experience! I was extremely nervous but the whole team put me at ease. I wouldn't normally go out of my depth in a pool so this was daunting, but it's so well organised and the team are so kind, it made it manageable. We saw loads of fish especially when we fed them by hand with the bread provided by the divers. It felt safe and professional throughout and there are plenty of staff on hand. The experience lasted about the right amount of time (20 to 25 minutes on the actual walk, and an hour and a half overall). It's very good value. We bought the video afterwards which is pricey but an amazing souvenir of a unique experience. It did take quite a long time afterwards waiting for them to save the footage to a USB stick.... our driver had to wait for us. It would be better if there was a link or similar perhaps? I would encourage everyone to do this even if you are really nervous like me - I felt so brave and proud I'd done it afterwards! A word of warning- you must let go of the ladder once you get the helmet on! They do explain this, but I forgot and have got bruises on my arms where the divers were trying to get me off the ladder!

Brilliant Fun.

Highly recommended.

Apart from one small thing.
Sitting on the boat, in the middle of the sea. Waiting for people to change their clothes.
Why ? Why would anyone need to change their clothes before heading back. Then to add insult to injury. They realised they had left their swimming costumes behind. We had, had a brilliant time. Below the water. Got to snorkel whilst waiting for our fellow passengers to have their go.
Then as we were about to head back they decided they had an urgent need to change.
I don't wish to be rude, however how long does it take for you to change out of a swimming costume into another ? Then for the other people in your party to do the same ?

Really put a dampener on the day.

Apart from that.....
Great friendly service.

This was an absolutely amazing experience and the team were professional and ensured we felt safe. I think everyone should try this!! I would suggest to bring your own waterproof camera or phone as the price to get the video is nearly as much as the dice itself!!
