Great experience

I've had the pleasure diving with the team at Sunset Diving and it has been one of the highlights of my trip! I did my first two dives with Jeff, a very knowledgeable, professional and fun instructor, and he certainly delivered!
On my second trip, i brought my cousin along and as an inexperienced diver, i knew she would be taken care of! Annais did a fantastic job, from the briefings to the end of the dives, reassuring her and making her feel comfortable so that she could enjoy her dives.
My third trip was a cool/cruisy one... 2 dives, good conditions, plenty to see and all smile on deck! Simply a great day. After the dives, I got the chance to hangout with Shane and Annais at the diving centre, exchanging a few cool diving stories, and also booked 4 more dives before heading back to Australia.
Sunset Diving has a 5 stars crew and i would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves diving!

Great experience during 12 dives

We did 12 dives with Lindsay and his team, including two as part of the SSI Wreck diving specialty course. During those 12 dives, we got to see many different dive sites with great visibility and rich marine life, including corals, turtles, octopus, rays, and plenty of colorful fish.
During the wreck specialty course, we visited the Silver Star and El Djabeda wrecks, both very beautiful and interesting wrecks. However, apart from the theory (e-learning), the course didn't include a lot of new knowledge/skills, especially in practice during the dives. Another time we would probably either only do fun dives on the wrecks, or continue with the SSI Advanced Wreck diving course afterwards, or instead do the PADI Wreck diving specialty course.

At first, it was a bit difficult for us to feel included in the group because they mostly spoke French with other divers and Creole among themselves, both of which are languages we don't speak. But once we got to know each other a bit better after a few dives, the 'diving family atmosphere' started to develop and we felt more 'at home'. In any case, the whole team of Sunset Diving was always kind and helpful.

The equipment is in great condition and well taken care of. Safety is the top priority of the whole team. During a medical emergency of another diving school, the Sunset Diving team was the only other dive boat around which carried emergency oxygen and was therefore able to assist them immediately.

Thank you Lindsay and the whole team for a great experience!

Professional and welcoming diving company

Great diving operator. Well organised, super skilled and very welcoming. We had Shane as a guide/instructor, who kept everything light and fun while also patiently managing quite a big group of divers and making sure everyone was safe and happy. We would definitely book again and can only recommend!

Would be difficult to find better

My son and I signed up for an open water certification. It was a great experience, right from the initial contact until the end when we qualified. The staff were brilliant, each one clearly confident and comfortable in their roles and able quickly to sort out the morning rush and get the dives going. It makes a huge difference when there’s is no grumpiness and the enthusiasm really makes one feel included and part of the day’s adventure. Our “coach”, Annais, was a great teacher with her calm and clearly knowledgeable approach. Everything was explained and demonstrated and so learning was that much easier, and so much fun. When your students are 18 years and 59 years respectively, it could be tricky. Annais handled us like a pro. Highly recommended.

Amazing dive certification experience!

My husband and I went diving for one morning and Lindsay was such an incredible teacher that I ended up deciding to get my SSI Open Water certification with Sunset Diving! Lindsay was very good at explaining the skills, technique, and theory behind everything we were going to do before starting the dives. I felt very safe with him as a teacher. We saw beautiful fish, coral, and other sea creatures at several different sites around Mauritius! 10/10 would recommend going to Sunset Diving!

Need improvements

Many thanks to the team . They were very well organized and very knowledgeable as well.

Unfortunately during the presence of the boss, the atmosphere was quiet tence. No smile, no good morning and no question to us, about our dives.

As a Mauritian citizen and with experience working in the tourism industry since couple years, I think this is not acceptable that a leader is acting as such.

Hi Fabrice, Thank you for your comment. it is indeed difficult to discuss with the thousands of divers that we have over the year, even if we would like to be able to do it knowing that some need more attention than others, after the announcement of cancer, it's hard to have a smile all the time, but we're really going to make an effort to improve. I am still delighted that your dives went well and that the rest of the team was at the top for you. Looking forward to seeing you again with a smile. see you soon.

Great experience with Romano and the whole team !

With my brother, we did our OPEN WATER (SSI) level at Sunset diving Grand Baie 3 weeks ago. I have to say the whole team was really nice with us, they were very professional. I really recommend this place for diving. A big shout out for Romano who was our diver guide for 3 days. We had a lot of fun with him. The briefing was very well done, the explanation was clear and with no rush no pressure. We had some good laughs and a lot of fun for sure. I will definitely go back there for another diving session.

First class diving centre

Serious place with great instructors. We got our SSI Open Water with Romano as our instructor, and also dived with Lindsay. Both are great guys with lots of humour, very knowledgeable and take your diving education seriously. Safety was always 100 %, and we felt well taken care of as beginners. Really a top place for diving in Mauritius.

Open Water Diving

All the staff are friendly helpful & professional. Lindsay is exceptional.
We liked him so much we chose to drive back from the South for my partner to upgrade from Scuba to Open water.

I have my PADI advanced & have dived in several different countries over the years - we can honestly say this is the best school we've dived with.
Some great sites & beautiful marine life.

Best Diving School in Mauritius

Had a great experience doing my Open Water SSI course with Sunset Diving!
Very well organized and a professional team!
Had the pleasuere to get coached by Lindsay the first day and by Romano the last two days. Both of them with great knowledge and a genuin interest in making me and my friend proper Open Water divers. Felt very confident trought the whole course.
