My wife and I like to visit wineries as we travel or take a ride on a nice day. We tried the Clearview Winery this past weekend. Clearview is located in Warwick New York on Clearview Lane directly off of Route 94. They are open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with tastings on all three days and live music and small food offerings only on Saturday and Sunday. Tasting consists of six wines and a wine glass for $12 or $10 without keeping the glass. The winery consists of a building and a porch for tasting and picnic tables for outside seating. Wait staff and the owner were friendly. Our tasting consisted of two whjte and four red wines. They produce more than six wines but the six wines for tasting were already selected for you. The wines were average, with none of the six standing out. They weren't bad but none stood out enough to purchase.

I am a scotch/bourbon drinker. Maybe once a year, I will want a glass of wine. This winery has amazing wines. The weekend entertainment is top notch. And, the owners are amazing, hardworking people. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Orange County, NY.

Visited a couple of new wineries over the weekend and always end up back here! Service, knowledge, hospitality are always top notch. The only place that had live entertainment on 4th of July weekend, CJ is a very talented musician. Highly recommended ☆☆☆☆

This was our 1st time back here, since renovations were done. We pulled up, parking lot quite full, finally had spot after another car pulled out.
Entered into the building, it was crowed, looked around waited for someone to say something, nothing. We wanted to get wine and sit outside, no tables available, only inside. We still want to taste the wines, no one acknowledged us...
We came looking over to the wine pouring/tasting area to the right...a man looked at us a few times, but, no comment.
Service was just awful and disappointing. Anytime we have walked into an establishment, Some one greets you in some manner. This tall man behind the bar, cared less. Just say, hi, Some one will be with you shortly...
We ended up waiting to long.
The inside , well they did a nice job, but not sure we will return again.

We are sorry for the bad service and wish to make amends. That was our busiest day ever here at Clearview Vineyard and we were over whelmed. The big crowd was due to the write ups in the local papers naming Clearview Vineyard to the top 25 vineyards in the US by Travel and Leisure Magazine. Come back and ask for Frank and I will give you two free glasses of wine.
Have a great week!

This place is a gem. It is my favorite vineyard in the area and one of my favorite vineyards I have ever been too. A lot of people tell you Warwick Valley is the best but honestly that place is crowded and doing lot of stuff besides the wine. This place is gold!! Pure gold. The wine is really really good. The owner and staff are super friendly. The kid doing the tasting was very intelligent and loved wine. The stuff he said about each was great and they are not stingy with their pours. great food too. Simple ordering process too, doesnt take long for them to make it. They allow dogs outside and inside if its not busy. I really liked the owner and staff. The reds here are so good. I think they are better tasting and highly quality than the other vineyards in the area.
Its a little tricky to find this place as its a small sign off a fast road but please check this place out. Its such a calm relaxing atmosphere with a great view. The porch balcony is very comfotable.

We enjoyed visiting Clearview. It is a very tiny winery and sitting area. However, the inside was decorated very nicely for Christmas. The wines were decent, not the best but definitely not the worst we have had at the different wineries we have visited. If you are in Warwick on a winery trail come here and check it out. Worth a stop.

Thanks for the review. We have only one concern with the review about the size of our winery.
We can handle 99 people in the wine tasting room and another 50 people on our covered porch,
making our place the second largest off the four in Warwick and one of the larger facilities in
the Hudson Valley.

I'll preface my review by stating that I work in the tasting room of a California winery. I have visited quite a few NY wineries and have come away disappointed. Clearview is an exception. The wines were very good to excellent. Some of the varietals I had never tasted and was please with everything I tried. The best part was Frank, the owner. He was very helpful and knowledgeable sharing as much information as I wished to receive. If you go wine tasting in NY, this is the place to visit. You will not be disappointed. Please note that TripAdvisor lists this in RI. It is really in Warwick, NY

Clearview was one of 15 wineries that recently participated in the wine and bites event which is part of the Shawagunk wine trail group.
Of the 15, we visited 12 in 2 days. Of the 12, there are only 6 that I would go back to. Clearview is one of the wineries we plan to visit again in the Fall. While I think some of the wineries were not thrilled to participate ( you kind of get that feeling during the tasting that it wasn't worth their time), for the smaller wineries, it's a great way to showcase their wines and draw more visitors from the larger wineries.
We met the owners and Frank was kind enough to take us to the processing room to let us sample next year's vintage. Try doing THAT at one of the larger wineries!
The Cab Franc is very distinct in having a smooth but peppery taste. I don't consider myself a wine expert but there is something very unique and striking about the wine.
The building were the tastings, music, and food is set off a bit from the road and appears to be somewhat new. There is outdoor seating and in the day we were there, there was live music. Since it was towards the end of the day when we arrived and not too many people there, we spent a good amount of time chatting with both owners and getting a few extra samples.
Since the event was wine & bites, we were to have a food sample with the wine. I think it was a small brownie, which didn't seem to go well with the wine, so we all skipped it. It was the only winery where we did that.
Do yourself a favor, skip the big, loud, impersonal wineries in the area. Head to the smaller, less traveled places and enjoy the wine and music.

No surprise Clearview was chosen by Travel and Leisure magazine as the 14th Vineyard in the US and the number 1 in New York. The wines are delicious! I love their Cabernet Savignon and even their Merlot. Their peppery Cab Franc is something special and the other wines are all worth tasting. They make the best sangria!
The ambiance is low-key, super friendly and on weekends they play live music, either out on the terrace or in the tasting room. They also offer charcuterie and other platters, which are all good and inexpensive.

Just an average vineyard. My boyfriend and I went here to taste some wine and we weren't impressed. The view from the top of the little path that they were talking about was nothing great.

What kinds of wine do you produce, and what’s their price range?
Written March 11, 2019
We produce about 15 dry red and white wines. Many of the wines are grown in our vineyard. The prices range from $20 to $30 and include the sales tax.
