We have been trying to avoid crowded areas while biking (especially the trail to Jones Beach) so we have been exploring local parks. I really like Wantagh park. It is a nice size. Paved path for biking and walking/running. You can relax on the benches while watching the boats go by. Most of the BBQ pits were blocked off but some people brought their own. For obvious reasons the pool is closed but looks very nice. At this time only a few of the bathrooms were open to the public and had various hours.

As a tourist I loved Wantagh Park, especially the tennis courts. The tennis net are very high quality and the hard clay court is easy to run on. I loved the cool breave and elegant views while I played tennis.

I took a peaceful walk at the Wantagh park marina. The views of the boats and subset were a relaxing way to end the night.

Wantagh park, so much for an enjoyable stroll. Met my daughter at 8:30 to go for a walk. Finished at 9:30 and found a ticket on each car for $130.00 for parking after dusk??? We asked the cop if we could ask a question and he said he has all day he's on overtime. We complained and he agreed the signs were barely visible and should be posted better. Anyway.. $130.00 really.. how about a sign or a warning would be much nicer.

Wantagh Park is a very well maintained park with a large pool complex. There is a discount for Nassau County Residents. Non residents pay more but it is well worth it for the day. The pools are large and include lap lanes, kiddie pools, and a water slide. There is a snack bar and places to change. After a day at the pool there are a couple of miles of well paved paths for getting your steps in.

The Wantagh Park has has a face lift. The playgrounds have bee refurbished. The marina is beautiful to walk along. The pool area is well kept and a new addition is the mini-golf course a fun venue. Wantagh park's spacious grounds and scenic greenery are just what you might need on a sunny day. It's one of my favorite places to go.

It has it All !
A marina, brand new ball fields, at least 2 playgrounds for young children
Also, there are 2 new fenced dog areas.
There is a big slide in the pool area. ( seasonal or daily passes needed )
You always see joggers & people with strollers getting their exercise
Don’t forget to tryout the miniature golf ( check when open)

This is a very meticulously maintained park. It is perfect to bring your kids. Many nice spots to have a picnic. On Memorial Day Weekend, this is an ideal place to watch the Blue Angels air show.

There is a wonderful playground, Outdoor pool with a waterslide boating marina (lottery only). The grounds are maintained for walking and biking. There are bbq's (I believe you need to contact the town) You do need a Town of Hempstead Leisure pass to utilize the pool.
