Decided to go this evening to the beach, sat 8/18, and parked at field 6. Didn’t mind paying the $10 entrance fee. The beach was disgusting: litter everywhere, bad beach etiquette (cursing, feeding the seagulls, spitting, nose blowing into the air & litter everywhere.) People...More

Three of us, all of us adults, went to Jones Beach, East Bathhouse area. The ocean was beautiful and the sand was fairly clean. However, the bathrooms, inside showers and changing rooms were disgusting and putrid. That said, the weather was perfect and we had...More

There was a concert the day we went, so parking was a bit of a challenge. We ended up in Field 2 that put us next to the west building. Make sure to go with your swimwear on because there's no place to change. There's...More

I enjoy coming to Jones beach. The water is clean, which is a big plus for beach goers/swimmers. There are plenty of trash cans on the sand so please please pick up your trash and throw it in the trash cans. It can get very...More

I've been going to Jones Beach for years. It's nice but very overcrowded during the day. I prefer to go after 4pm to avoid the admission.

Went with family which included couple of small kids, liked the white sand beaches, the water was rough and not very clean.

My first attempt (several years ago) at just walking on a Long Island Beach was thwarted by the need for expensive parking or beach permits. I only had 30 minutes and just wanted to see the ocean before a long trip back home. Jones Beach...More

I went to park number 6. As expected, the water color wasn't that attractive, but there was no seaweed and no smell. The beach had nice sand and it was fun to ride the waves. Watch out for long line at the women's bathroom. They...More

Jones beach is bar away and always busy. The heat came to us and we went anyway. Arriving at Jones Beach, we got stuck in traffic, because, yes, many had the same idea. Seeking cooling at the beach. We found a parking spot and a...More

No, but some, many on weekends, try. Cops are told you are "imbibing" and will approach you. I'm not sure what they do, but it probably will put a damper on your day, so.......

Yes it is. It's open every day. Actually all year, even when the lifeguards stop, you can go and enjoy the nice, long boardwalk. I'm guessing it's about 3 or 4 miles long.
