Stumbled across this whilst on our way to the play park (because Salts Mill was closed), and I’m glad we paid to come on the boat. A 40 minute long trip with some lovely scenery, a new way to see Salts Mill (from the water) and a potted history of our industrial heritage thrown in too; fantastic. Would HIGHLY recommend!!

Tony (the Skipper) is a lovely guy, and gives you some great information on the canal half way through the trip. For the rest of the time, you can just sit and enjoy the views as you cruise peacefully down the canal. It's nice to see things from a different point of view, and is thoroughly enjoyable - as well as a bargain at only £4 each!

We were lucky enough to walk past a sign advertising a boat trip along the canal in Saltaire, we saw the next trip was at 4.30pm so went to a local bar, The Boat House for a refreshing drink whilst we waited. We walked back to the canal, just a minute or so away and waited for the narrowboat. it was a lovely sunny afternoon so we sat in the open area at the front, we paid our £4 each and set off. Firstly down towards the Saltaire sports ground, then a U turn and back towards Shipley. Tony the owner and skipper stopped here and gave us a short talk about the canal, and interesting features and facts, then it was back to Saltaire. It was a great trip, lovely scenery, great info from Tony... £4 each its way too cheap for a 40 minute trip. I would have happily paid double and still would have thought it good value. Next time we are in Saltaire we will enjoy another trip.

Thanks for your generous review. Unfortunately, despite the palm trees growing by the canal in Shipley, the weather isn't always so sunny.

My husband and I went one Saturday afternoon and were lucky enough to have the boat to ourselves. I liked the fact we went both ways along the canal. The man piloting the boat was very friendly. I can’t fault it for £4 each.

Had a lovely time with fellow shipmates. Feeding the ducks on the way. This is something that will suit young and old. Not long enough for the youngsters to get board, and the older people to stiffen up. The skipper was brilliant with everyone.
