About
Heart & Hands Wine Company is located in a serene setting overlooking the eastern shore of Cayuga Lake. We are committed to producing cool-climate wines which authentically express the unique character of the Finger Lakes. Our production is quite small - currently under 1500 cases, which allows for an intense focus on quality. Our intent is to produce food-friendly wines, and we offer several wines crafted from Pinot Noir and Riesling grapes for your enjoyment.

This location while just off the road, feels isolated, private and is nestled in the vineyard…
They are very friendly and personal..offering facts AND stories of the wines (not just the numbers).
Everyone is approachable and they are very willing to go “off script” if you have a wine you want to taste.
Susan and her husband make you feel like long lost friends and the staff is the same way.
It goes without saying, the wines are fabulous and we’ll crafted. They live up to the accolades they keep getting from the wine world and critics like Suckling..

It is a great area to visit on the east side of Cayuga lake and the villages of Union Springs and Aurora are well kept and pleasant to drive or walk through.

This has long been one of our favorite and must stops around the Finger Lakes wine country and a very short drive from Syracuse. I know there are debates about which winery is the best in class around the Finger Lakes, and we won't go there, but we can say, when they call the roll for the best in class, you don't have to wait long before this winery is called. You taste magnificent wines which mirror the character and dedication of the owners who make them. We are often fortunate to have Susan Higgins, one of the co-owners along with her husband Tom, conduct our tastings. Susan has a wealth of knowledge about the wines which she shares and is always pleasant company. Many wineries eschew pinot noir, a difficult grape to manage and finish under the best of circumstances, never mind the vagaries of the finger lakes climate conditions, but they have put their efforts into doing it and doing it very very well. Of course, the riesling is superb and the sparking when produced is excellent. You would be well advised to stop by and taste for yourselves. You will not be disappointed and in many cases you will be amazed about the quality and artistry of what comes out of this small winery above Cayuga Lake. They show that while the pursuit of excellence is never easy the end result is certainly rewarding and inspiring

A group of seven from a local family reunion stopped for a wine tasting. Susan was our server and she was a delight. Very knowledgeable of the wines we were going to taste, and all aspects of the wine making process. We went to three different places during our stay and Heart and Hand Wine Company was my wife and my favorite.
They seems to concentrate on quality and being great hosts. If you are near the eastern Finger Lakes region this should be a must stop. Before we headed back south we stopped a second time to taste again and purchased some to bring home to share with friends

We heard great things about this winery and were not disappointed! We aren't typically fans of pinot noir, but the wine at Heart and Hands has changed that. Their wines have great flavor and character. The staff was also very friendly and knowledgeable about the wine.

We read about this winery on Trip Advisor and thought it would be one of the few we would visit on the East Shore of Cayuga Lake. It did not disappoint. We did arrive without a reservation, but were able to get a nice table in the garden. The tasting was served to us at our table which is very nice. We had a white and a red tasting. All of their wines were presented and explained in detail which was also very nice. At the conclusion of our tasting we did take some home. Definitely one of the wineries in this area not to be missed.

Hearts and Hands is everything a Finger Lakes Winery should be. It is owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Tom and Susan. Tastings are presented by Susan or one of the highly educated staff. They all know the wines inside and out.

In my opinion the wines are consistently the highest quality of the region and therefore the world. The Pinot Noir offerings vary by vineyard, fermentation techniques and of course vintage. It is amazing to me how different wines can be made from the same variety. Wines of this quality are works of art and Tom and his team are artists of the highest order.

If you enjoy elegant, complex wines suitable for drinking with a fine meal or an informal gathering this is the winery for you.

My new favorite in the Finger Lakes! My husband I visited on Friday afternoon. Due to COVID the tastings were being done outside under a tent which didn't detract from our experience at all (although it was chillier than one would expect so early in September). All of the staff wore masks and tables were nicely separated - we both felt perfectly safe in the environment. We went with the Pinot Noir tasting as neither of us are big fans of white wines and we drink our fair share of Pinots at home. We were not disappointed. The regular Pinot was very tasty and all of the Pinots were very French in style which is probably why we liked them so much. We enjoyed the higher end bottles they offered as well for the same reason. The staff was very warm, friendly and most importantly knowledgeable about the different wines. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience, bought a bunch of bottles to enjoy at home (YUM) and will visit again on our next trip to the finger lakes.

I heard I had to try this winery because of their Pinoit Noir, and I was not disappointed. The Mo Chuisle is pricey but worth it, and I had to take a bottle home. It is so nice to see winemakers start to produce the best out of their grapes, and create such excellent wines.

We stopped in at Heart and Hands winery on our way to the Inns of Aurora where we would be stopping for the night. The Inn had actually recommended on their website that this was the place to stop and we are so glad we did. We made a reservation for the tastings ahead of time which in hindsight was good-thinking. Although it was a day of bad weather most tables were in use. The patio is covered but because of the intensity, we sat in the barrel room. Being able to enjoy a tasting at a table instead of a bar felt like a treat while also being COVID safe. Everything was santized and all workers wore masks. What surprised me about the wine was how delicious the Pinot Noir's were. The Verve Chardonnay was also a favourite. My only wish was that the flights could be more mixed as opposed to being set - it did work out since my partner and I could enjoy one of each but also shrae.. I haven't had great wine experiences in the Finger Lakes - but this place changed my mind.

Wonderful experience! First time to the Finger Lakes Region. Heart & Hands came highly recommended. We visited on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Very comfortable in the outdoor setting under the tent. The staff did a thorough job sanitizing after each group of guests left, putting us greatly at ease. They were warm, inviting and especially knowledgeable and passionate about their wines. Fantastic offerings!
We immensely enjoyed our time spent with them and strongly suggest stopping by if you are in the area! You will not be disappointed.
