Overview
More
The Wild Center is an 81-acre hands-on place to get all kinds of new perspectives on the wild world of the Adirondacks. It will include Wild Walk, a brand new trail across the treetops starting in the summer of 2015. The Wall Street Journal called The Wild Center "Glorious" in its review, and The New York Times called it "stunning". The Center has live animals, a wide screen theater, canoes, its own river, guides walks, tons of cutting-edge green building systems, and the only treetop walk in the Adirondacks.

This is a really nice nature center with great exhibits and hands-on experiences. The day we were there was a painting activity which would have been really fun if we had felt like we had more time. There are lots of outdoor walking paths and...More

Really cool natural history museum. Ideal for ages 7 and up. The day we were there it was packed with strollers and four year olds. Didn't even do canopy walk because it was full of screaming kids. Did enjoy a quiet walk along trails down...More

Drove 2 1/2 hours from Burlington, Vermont to The Wild Center. I can't say it was worth the drive because 2 1/2 hours is quite a distance. If it had been closer, then definitely worth the price and visit. This is a beautiful and educational...More

This is an excellent family attraction for anyone interested in natural history and ecosystems. It has natural interactive ecosystems built into indoor exhibits, as well as outdoor marshes and bird sanctuary. Some reviewers complained that the place is a rip-off; $20 admission for a15 minute...More

This is a wonderful museum/outdoor experience. The indoor museum is actually quite small, but well organized and interesting. The single otter is delightful, but also rather sad. Perhaps too many trout in tanks for my taste, but certainly explains the Adirondack water environment. Decent cafeteria...More

This is a great little secret tucked away in the heart of the ADKs. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it isn't big enough! But you could easily spend 1/2 day exploring. In the center portion are art supplies for...More

The Wild Center is a very interesting attraction. The outdoor portion takes you to varying heights along walkways and very short steel suspension bridges and stairways. Each level gives info about the various organisms that would live at that height inthe forest. The spider web...More
