To begin with, my circle of friends and family have done many escape rooms (both in the Western New York region and elsewhere). I feel confident that, in my over 30 escape room experiences, Escape City Buffalo is the best of the group.
Room Theme: Any escape room junkie will tell you that being immersed in the genre is an absolute must. While a brief explanation from the room guide is necessary, for safety reasons, a well decorated, genre specific, unique set will throw you right into the story. Escape City Buffalo, not only uses appropriate themed props, but all of the built sets absolutely make you forget where you are and take you on a journey into your story (whether it's a penthouse suite in Vegas, or the bowels of a cargo ship).
Difficulty and Progression: Who wants to start a puzzle and not even know how to take the first step? Escape City Buffalo not only gives a challenging progression of puzzles, but also has an innovative hint system that progresses the story without giving away too much of the puzzle.
Electronics, Programming, "Gimmicks": I cannot stress this enough. Escape City Buffalo has integrated the "smart" aspect of their rooms with the "old fashioned" puzzle solving that lies at the heart of Escape Rooms. Yes, we want to turn that old fashioned padlock to open the safe, but yes we also want TV screens, touch screen HMIs, scanners, sensors, moving parts, etc. At Escape City Buffalo, they have expertly integrated the necessary "old fashioned," with the innovative "smart."
I have completed two of the current open puzzles at Escape City Buffalo, and you can be sure, we will be going back to conquer the third.

My family was visiting the Niagara Falls area from CT. Our party of 5 had 3 escape room vets and 2 newbies. We did "Over The Falls" and loved every second of it! The attention to detail was inspired and theme was perfect for families visiting the area. I especially appreciated the safeguards and precautions in place during this summer season of COVID. This was the only indoor activity for us and it was very comforting. My kids are teenagers and I could not recommend this highly enough for adventure seeking families. Well done, Escape City Buffalo!!

This escape room was great!! I have never been to an escape room like this it’s very detailed! You can tell they put a lot of time into their creations. The game master was excellent, enthusiastic & patient! Me and my family of 4 did The Body Collection room and had a blast! We almost made it out in a hour we were right there our game master was kind enough to give us bones time we made it out in 1 hour and 40 seconds ðŸ˜. We will be returning to experience the other rooms they have. Highly recommended!

Our Girl Scouts had so much fun today working together on the "Over the Falls" game!!! It was challenging, but you can ask for as many hints as you need, so the girls never felt overwhelmed. They were practically squealing with excitement whenever we solved a puzzle. Highly recommended.

At this point, my family has done 30+ Escape Rooms with many different companies. I can confidently say that this is the best Escape Room I have ever done. The decorations and the puzzles are excellent. I don't want to give any spoilers, so I won't describe anything within the rooms. You will not be disappointed unless you just don't like Escape Rooms, because this place does them the best.

I love Escape Rooms, I have been to over 89 rooms and have never wrote a review. After experiencing Escape City Buffalo, i just had too. Me and my group did all the rooms and each is breath taking, just an incredible experience. If you love escape rooms you need to try these. The BEST of the best.

This place is a must!!! I have done about 40 escape rooms in multiple states and this place is top 2. We booked one room and were so pleased with the experience that we immediately asked to do another room. Two rooms back to back and they were both excellent. Everything from the decor, to the puzzles, the staff, everything is awesome! If you are in the area, take the hour to check this place out with your family or friends. You will have so much fun!

The environment was awesome. It really set the mood and felt like we were on an actual ship. Excellent ambiance. Troy did an great job of explaining the rules and getting us through to the end successfully. Best escape room I've done so far. Highly recommend.

So fun!! We have done about 6 escape rooms, 2 of them have been here and it is by far the best. We did Over the falls with our kids and the hangover with another couple. The attention to detail and stories are great. We will definitely be going back to do the third room that they offer. We drove an hour to do these rooms and it was well worth the drive and the price of admission.

My three adult children were home for the holidays and we decided to book an escape room here. What a phenomenal experience! Best escape room ever! The staff was very helpful yet not too overbearing. We enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back to experience the other rooms.
