- Lita-Luise CLaguna Hills, California97 contributionsIt was a fun experience and brought back great memories of the show. When we drove into the town of Ticonderoga via Highway 22, we saw a sign that said “Star Trek Experience”. I was thinking that it might be a Trekee’s gift shop. We had lunch at a diner and then we noticed the building across the street. So we decided “to go where millions have gone before,” and it turned out to be the biggest surprise on our trip. We entered the Star Trek exhibit and joined a tour group that had just begun. Inside the converted old grocery store warehouse, is the only exact copy of the interior of the show’s starship Enterprise, outside of the original studio. The guide, a young man who knew everything about the many seasons of the show’s run, shared the story behind a certain prop, room, or hallway, about various camera angles used on the show, how things were made and then changed for different shows. There were many rooms that had been recreated: hallways with their iconic curves for a round ship, the transporter room, sick bay with several rooms, the conference room, Kirk’s and Spock’s quarters, engineering, and the bridge. Every room was expertly put together with painstaking authenticity. In the conference room, the fake harp at the end of the table that Spock played on some shows, was signed by all the big stars that had come to visit "the experience". Visitors were able to take turns sitting in the captain’s chair on the bridge, and we could see that many of the screens around the room had actual pictures of deep space from NASA. In the gift shop, a giant model of the Enterprise hung from the ceiling, and along one side was a long display with costumes worn by many on the show over the years. We were impressed by all the work that the set creators had gone through, and we learned many interesting things about behind the scenes of the show. How the same curved hallway is used over and over for different parts of the ship, the set just had its art and intercoms moved. How the stairs went to nowhere, how Captain Kirk’s sleeping quarters was back to back with Spock’s room. Apparently, millions of fans from around the world have already come to see and experience the rooms of Star Trek. Even William Shatner, who turned 91 in May of 2022, still comes twice a year for special appearances, and still enjoys hitting the com button. It was a fun experience and brought back great memories of the show.Visited September 2022Traveled as a coupleWritten July 6, 2023
- Jose B2 contributionsA Tour Every Star Trek Fan Should Take.Every Star Trek fan should visit the set tour. The sets are incredible, the staff was very knowledgeable and informative. I grew up on Star Trek and having an opportunity to tour the sets was simply incredible. Our tour guide took his time, explained each room and the artifacts.in them. He was able to provide details on each item in the rooms, the episodes of interest and the history. DON'T MISS OUT!!Visited June 2023Written July 9, 2023
- therealjimalexanderEvansville, Indiana2 contributionsA must-see experience for any Star Trek fanWow. Where do I start? This was the second time I visited the 'Star Trek Original Series Set Tour.' It should mean plenty that I drove about 17 hours each way (I'm a nervous flyer) to return. The experience is extraordinary. Owner James Cawley is constantly upgrading and improving the tour. As a first-generation Classic Star Trek fan, and one who appreciates the behind-the-scene aspects of the series, I thoroughly enjoyed both the sets themselves, as well as the unparalleled prop display in the outer lobby. Cawley is tireless in his pursuit of authenticity and of his acquisition of recreated props, as well as vintage ones from the period, used by the set dressers and prop people. I cannot say enough great things about my experience at the tour. The staff, in particular Marybeth, were all friendly and helpful. I look forward to returning again.Visited July 2023Written July 15, 2023
- MaryFall River, Massachusetts211 contributionsA must see if you are or are not a Star Trek Fan!This was really not my cup of tea but my boyfriend had to see it! It was fun and I do remember the original series. The sets were fantastic and gave you that authentic feel. Our guide and photographer were great! My favorite rooms were the transport room and the Captain's Bridge. It was truly an experience even if you are not a fan. Just seeing the pleasure it brings to others is good enough for me!Visited July 2023Written July 19, 2023

I paid extra for our very own tour of the set. Our guide knows everything about the show. And, he is a professional photographer. Our guide was terrific. We had an enjoyable time there. There is also a gift shop and items from the TV series on display. If you love Star Trek like we do, you must come up here to Ticonderoga. - Dave HBeaver, Pennsylvania278 contributionsCool experienceWe found the sets to be entertaining and re-created just like we expected. Our guide Ashley was personable and knowledgeable. We were able to take many great pictures as the group size was limited to only 10 people. What a thrill sitting in Captain Kirk’s chair. The tour lasted about 75 minutes and was worth every Penny.Visited July 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten July 30, 2023
- Howard AAuckland, New Zealand274 contributionsUSS Enterprise NCC-1701It is something of an out of the way location but if you are in the area and are a Trekkie it is very well worth the visit. The owners have reconstructed the original set with millimetre accuracy. It really does feel like walking around the starship Enterprise. Our guide was first rate. She was able to provide a huge amount of information and answered questions confidently. Considering that she was guiding four very serious Trekkies that is impressive. They have frequent celebrity visits. If you can time a visit to coincide with one of those it would be great.Visited August 2023Traveled with friendsWritten August 17, 2023
- LilysMom224 contributionsGreat fun for allWe had a lot of fun on this tour! I was familiar with the original Star Trek show but wouldn't call myself a fan. My husband on the other hand is a devoted Trekie! I enjoyed seeing him smile, giggle and reminisce as we moved to each new set. It was like he was traveling back in time! The tour guides were also loaded with series insider facts and stories that we all enjoyed hearing. If you're a Trekie fan, this is a must see. I've no doubt you will have a great experience because the sets are impeccable.Visited September 2023Traveled with friendsWritten September 8, 2023

- Sherry LFishers, Indiana661 contributionsWhat a surprise for us Trekkies! We had no idea this exists and just stumbled across it! We sure are glad! As long time Star Trek fans we HAD to do it once we saw it. The person doing the tour was very knowledgeable not only of the set and the series but of behind the scenes stories and the actors, as well. It was so cool to experience the sets in person and grab pictures. We loved it and would highly recommend!Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten September 18, 2023

What horrible experience no drinks being sold in morning only 1 port a potty that was almost full on Saturday afternoon. 1 garbage pail hidden behind the front door. Talks were moved off site and i couldnt go because i would of missed my autograph i got on line at 2:30 for a 5:00 signing and left at 6pm and shatner had to leave for a 7pm dinner. Couldn't take any photos of shatner while he was signing my stuff. He couldnt even look up and say hello i told him he should di another season of your never too late and he mumbled he loved it. I paid $50 for the tour and someone just walked up on Saturday and paid $23.50. Also i aaked about buying an additional autograph and was told i had to buy from you in the gift shop. I waited online again and was charged tax another $8 overcharge when i could of paid $100 at the signing table. I wont be back ever unless you dig up leonard nimoy and he is there. Also you keep deleting negative comments off facebook.

It was like stepping through The Guardian of Forever's portal and out onto the decks of The Starship Enterprise. The attention to detail is amazing. It authentically renders the 60's vision of a future, fashioned from curving corridors, swishing doors, and glass bead buttons.

As an old school Trekkie, I had to visit here. I was not disappointed. My pre-teen self would have loved this as a kid... being able to walk around the Enterprise and experience the sights and sounds of the original series.
My wife and I took the normal tour, which ran about an hour. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and knew how to move everything along. He would take us into a room, give us the background, allow us to take pictures, answer questions, and then move us along when everyone was ready. It made for a very relaxed experience and allowed everyone to experience it fully.
The gift shop, which also has exhibits of costumes and props, is great too, with lots of cool things to buy. Prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly.
If you are a Star Trek fan, this is must-see experience.

i purchased the admiral ticket experience with William Shatner, which was 1500 and included a picture with him, a tour of the sets and a "chat" on the bridge, in addition to seeing him perform on stage and have dinner with him. Well, first of all, the picture taken had everyone standing 5 feet behind him while he was in the captain's chair, and he didn't even turn around to acknowledge me or others getting that picture, and the picture is awful compared to side-by-side pictures you get at an average con experience. Secondly, the ship tour you can't get within 5 feet of him because he has 3 security goons that were abrasive and one got in my face in the transporter room, and in the bridge "chat" he just rambled on for most to the time and there was little to no time to engage at all with him, and the dinner with Shatner, is with about 100 other people. Don't waste your money on this, the picture is lame, and all you do is here him babble for 2 hours with not interaction and his macho security team there to intimidate a star trek crowd. Waste of money, but the sets are well done, and the general tour was good.

This place is a treat for Star Trek fans. The cost of admission, which is not insignificant, gets you a one hour guided tour of the Enterprise set. Besides seeing the transporter room, engineering, sick pay, Kirk's quarters and the bridge, you get explanations of how they made things work i.e. lot's of behind the curtain secrets. The final treat was allowing each of us to sit in the Captain's chair on the bridge. My major complaint is that there are no public bathrooms on site. We were directed to a local gas station, a few minutes walk away. Fortunately we arrived on a sunny day and not a rainy one. The tours are given on the hour starting at 10 a.m. and the last one is at 5 p.m.

We are sorry for the inconveinance, but currently as we explained that due to COVID 19 our bathrooms are closed to the public. Once the crisis passes they will again be available to all.

Hubby is a big original Star Trek fan. I watched many episodes, but wouldn't call myself an ardent fan. Brought him here as a special treat and even I was amazed! I really thought it would be a little hokey, but I actually loved it. It felt like I was walking around inside an episode! Made me want to binge-watch the old series. The tour guide was so knowledgable and pointed out numerous interesting tidbits about the set. He was also able to share some really interesting stories about the show and actors and todays visitors.

My wife and I stopped here in Ticonderoga, NY while on our trip through the New England states. I bet my wife that the tour would be cheesy and lame, but I was dead wrong! I lost 400 Quatloos on that bet.
This place was beyond awesome! The sets were painstakingly recreated from the original blueprints, with many of the props being either the real thing, or built with materials as close as possible to the original.
Our tour guide, Drew, was outstanding! He knew his stuff, and you could tell he was really into Star Trek lore, and not just rambling though a script.
Even though these reviews have lots of pictures, try not to look at all of them; you will want to see this place for yourself in person!

Yes, my family loves Star Trek, so on a rainy July 4th weekend , we decided to visit. I was expecting some patched together plywood mock up, but I figured let's just try it. This place was amazing! We really felt like we were on the Enterprise. Lots of wonderful photo ops and the tour guide was so informative, giving lots of details about the sets and how they were used in the show. The people who put this place together and who operate it love what they are doing, and it shows. Honestly, for a Star Trek fan, it is completely worth the trek to Ticonderoga!

They've done a spectacular job of recreating the original sets, with incredible attention to detail. Drew was a knowledgeable and entertaining tour guide, keeping the group well supplied with trivia and anecdotes as we went from room to room. There's also a small museum that includes some original costumes and props, and a gift shop where I found a Tribble to take home. This is a must-see for fans of the original series. (Side note: the ferry from Shoreham VT to Ticonderoga is closed as of this writing, so if you're coming from the east, head for the Champlain Bridge instead.)

Amazingly well executed recreation of the ‘Original’ Star Trek set. Several actual props and costumes that appeared in the series on display. Original series cast members have visited and loved it. The guides are a treasure trove of information. If you see one that could possibly be an Elvis impersonator- he worked as a costume designer for the series- ask him anything. We love the ‘Dacks but if you have seen enough rocks and need a break, this place is it.

How long do you need to be there for a "full" experience. Is this a one hour Visit / two hours/ all day experience?

It is a guided tour with a guide, and you are not able to wander around outside of the tour. I think the whole experience was between 90 minutes and 2 hours. They were very accommodating in allowing you to take a lot of pictures and take your time in each room. You definitely will not be here for a full day though (might change after The Next Generation sets come online)
Is it a seasonal attraction or is it open year round?

The Tour has a web site you can find this information plus contact info for any questions.
You can call them or send them a email.
They are a small town operation and return messages quickly.
This is their web site if you can figure it out or google for the tour. Trip Advisor dose not permit posting the actual web site..

Pricing depends on the events going on.
The tour is the entrance price..
You arrive and take the tour of the sets.
You have to go on a guided tour to see the sets.
Today I am seeing on their web site for general admission tickets, not special event tickets, the following prices . 22.50 for adults, 20.00 for senior citizens (55+) and military personnel, 11.00 for children (5-13) and children under 4 are free.

Here is their response to this question.
I would strongly encourage folks to always buy tickets in advance, especially for events, as they sell out quickly. For a regular tour its always possible to buy tickets at the door, but again, we recommend purchasing in advance so you have your choice of days and times. Weekends are busier than weekdays. But we are rarely slammed on regular tours, just at events.

How many people do they take on a tour at a single time? Just wondering if there's a need to make reservations extra early for a group of 8.

We were on a tour of 8, so I think that size works. They appear to be pretty flexible as far as size is concerned.
