Nice little local museum. Free of charge but donations accepted. Many displays showing the history (primarily industrial)of the area, especially the Ticonderoga pencil. The docent was very knowlegeable.

The center closes at 4:00, with my arrival time of 3:50. Linda, center's staff member, and I had talked over the phone about the Veteran's Memorial Park in Crown Point, the main reason for visiting. Linda was able to furnish more information in person.

Since my visit was short I was unable to see all what the center has to offer. There is a large number of area brochures available. Linda kept the center open about three minutes extra to help me, which I appreciated.

The center is located at the intersection of Montcalm & Tower Avenue, with parking in front & at least four spaces. Hours: Open daily 10:00 to 4:00, from June 24 to Labor Day. A visit is recommended.

This museum is tucked away in the Town of Ticonderoga at quite a reach from the more famous Fort by the same name. As directions and take the extra half hour drive to enjoy this quaint and well preserved slice of Americana. You'll be glad you did.

The Pell family acquired Fort Ticonderoga and later decided to restore it. Several family members were veterans, and some of the war memorabilia is displayed here, as well as cannons from the fort, shot found there, and information on how they came to store the fort.

Stopped in to ask direction for a kayak trip and afterward to thank her, but stayed for the wonderful museum and discussion about the history of Ti and the pencils they made. Really cool. So glad we stopped in.

The Ticonderoga Heritage Museum is a gem, especially if you want to find out about the history of Ticonderoga and Ticonderoga pencils. Great for kids, with hand-on activities. Our tour guide was friendly and very informative.

The museum was well thought out and presented a great history of the area. The different displays helped to explain events in history.

This is an interesting place all connected with the final defeat of the Brits in the souther part of North America, now called the USA. The battle here was against a small British force but led to the Battle of Saratoga where the Brits were comprehensively defeated by a larger American force and finally came to the conclusion they couldn't win. They had another try in 1812 but that didn't work either.

The museum tells the tale effectively and showcases a French built fort that had been taken over by the Brits. Storey well presented and well worth a visit.
