About
The Jazz Forum is the only dedicated Jazz club in Westchester County, New York. This 90-seat weekend-only live music venue is an intimate listening room with a warm and welcoming mood, affordable ticket prices and clear sightlines from all seats. Since opening in June 2017, the Jazz Forum has been presenting internationally renowned and master musicians to enthralled audiences, including “regulars” and newcomers every week since the opening. The club presents headliner Jazz artists on Friday and Saturday nights, Brazilian groups on Sundays afternoons, top-notch Jazz groups on Sunday nights, and monthly jam sessions. With a Steinway grand piano, hand-crafted walnut bar, informal dinner and full bar menu, separate lounge and pool room, and contemporary art gallery, fans of draped the club with love. Well before its first anniversary, the club has been an astonishing success, “...becoming a local (no, regional) treasure!”.

DON'T GO!!!
Dec 2019
I'm sorry. I went to see Janis SIegel perform on New Year's Eve 2019. First they made us wait outside in the cold for 1/2 hr - with no explanation when I asked. I love Janis SIegel (of the Manhattan Transfer). What was not so great is the venue for a first class artist like Janis. All during the performance people were talking, eating, you hear dishes clanking, bartenders mixing drinks (which often sounded like one of the instruments). This may be a good venue for a jazz band playing in the background while having dinner - but not for a first class artist like Janis Siegel Then to add salt to the wound - about 10 minutes before the end of the show - my waitress says to me that she will have to charge me for the minimum of 2 drinks (I only had one). So I ordered a glass of wine and barely had time to drink it. I never stiff waiters or waitresses - but I did this time. Oh, and did I say I paid $100.00 - yes that was $100.00 - for the ticket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would NEVER see someone I really want to see at this place. I say - DON'T - see them in a proper show venue. They didn't even have a step up to the stage - I couldn't even see Janis SIegel perform. I could only hear her along with the other noise.

Hello, As the General Manager of the Jazz Forum, I appreciate your comments as we do for both positive and negative feedback. I am so sorry you had the experience you described at the Jazz Forum. We did make a big mistake having early bird guests wait outside before seating for the 6 pm seating; I should have checked the length of the line and addressed that right away. We book many first class artists on regular nights every weekend and explain at the start of every set that we are a listening room - the music is the reason folks come and the menu of food and drink is secondly and yet, not unimportant. We are committed to a positive and attentive experience for both musicians and guests. We are also always looking for ways to both serve our guests efficiently and keep the noise in the kitchen and bar to a minimum in our open space. As for the raised stage, we made an intentional decision to maintain the living room feel of the club and allow for bands of all sizes to perform. On New Year's Eve, it is one night when that commitment is challenged by the celebratory nature of the evening. Last, if there was a misunderstanding about our minimum for that special night, I apologize for that. If you take a look at our line-up, we hope you will come for upcoming first-class shows and experience our promise to keep the sounds off the stage to a minimum. We will be sure to take care of you. Please feel free to follow up with me by email at ellen@jazzforumarts.org. Sincerely, Ellen K. Prior General Manager Jazz Forum

A fun time and great jazz!

Glad we got to enjoy early Sunday evening Jazz and a nice dinner with friends at this hidden spot in Tarrytown. Reserve and arrive early to get your preferred (unassigned) seats, as the place fills up quickly.

We had good food, great entertainment at reasonable prices. We made a reservation and arrived early so we could start our meal, which was optional. There was a small cover charge which included the price of one or two drinks if we were not eating.

Went here for a 7 pm show on Saturday
Nice venue down a side street/ally in Tarrytown
Easy to miss
Need to get there about 20-30 min before the show for closest tables
We sat near the entrance which was fine but given the L shaped room was a bit far to see the band. But it sounded nice
Nice selection of beers wine and drinks
$10 cover in addition to tickets which were $25
Nice show
They played for about 90 minutes give or take
I’ll go back

Nice space, quality performances, but painfully sub-par service.Had visited a year ago and had this experience, but chalked it up to newness. Went last night and found that nothing had changed. If you're going run a cabaret, you can't expect people to wait a half hour before giving a drink order. And, you should not get the order completely wrong when finally served. Purely amateur hour.

The Jazz Forum is the place in the Hudson Valley to experience world class jazz. The club is nicely laid out. The sound is excellent and they have an incredible Steinway piano. Mark and Ellen have been presenting great music for over forty years, so the know who to book. The audience is always hip and respectful of the performers.
My only criticism is that they could use a stage. If the could raise the height of musicians by only one foot, the sight lines of all the seat would improve vastly.
But all in all, a great club without all the trials of heading into NYC.

Godd venue for jazz

This is a small place to see good jazz shows - probably holds about 100 people at tables with about 8 seats at the bar. Seating is first cone first served.

Good friendly service.

There is a small plates and dinner menu but can't say anything about the food since we didn't eat there but no nights when there are two shows it would seem rushed to have dinner there. Nice selection of beers and wine.

FYI - in addition to the ticket charge there is a $10,00 minimum,

We will be going back for another show.

Purchased tickets for Barry Harris Trio. The elder Barry Harris was slow to get to the keyboard, but once there, his fingers resembled someone many decades younger. Barry was wonderfully playful with the audience to the point of using improv to create a new song on the spot with help from the crowd. His music was fresh and joyful.

There is a $10/person table charge which is not advertised anywhere on their website.

All in all, a great time for great music.

Great and wonderful Jazz venue!

Made it from NYC to the Jazz Forum, Tarrytown. Had a great time with the Jimmy Cobb trio, Music and club were fantastic. Large and appealing selection of wine. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Not the usual jazz club "cattle treatment" like e.g. at the "Blue Note" in downtown NY.
Strongly recommended!
