Great beginner mountain and family ski area

My boys learned to ski here and the majority of our group managed to ski down a beginner hill that wasn't a "bunny hill" . We were about 30 Cub Scouts. They were very friendly and... read more

Nice small ski resort. Very family and group oriented. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The trails are somewhat shorter than other mountains but they have a good variety for all levels and they've done a nice job with the limited natural snow we've had the last few seasons. The lift and rental prices are reasonable. They also have... More

My boys learned to ski here and the majority of our group managed to ski down a beginner hill that wasn't a "bunny hill" . We were about 30 Cub Scouts. They were very friendly and patient with all the young kids. Instructors went above and beyond even after our lessons. They offered help on the chair lift and helping... More

I bought a groupon for buy one get one lift ticket at Swain so I decided to give it a try. My son who's is an excellent skier and I arrived about 11 am and found the employees not only very helpful but super friendly. The conditions were excellent and the slopes very adverse for a small resort. We ski... More

Our family has a yearly tradition of heading to our cabin for MLK Weekend, which always includes skiing at Swain. The location is easy to get to, parking has never been an issue, and the rental shop has everything we need for a day or night on the slopes. We keep coming back, because the overall experience has been a... More

I couldn't do any skiing while I was there due to a recent injury but I did go out to the slopes and watch the skiers. Slopes looked well groomed and from my conversation with others the conditions were perfect. I walked over to the snow tubing area and watched others enjoying themselves on those hills as well. Nice little... More

Friendly ski resort with good skiing. The lifts are aging but the slopes are great even if vertical is much less than of its big rival in the region. Prices are very reasonable, staff is very kind. Unfortunately it is significantly farther from Rochester than other finger lakes resorts, yet I never resented the extra 1/2 h drive.

I've skied at Swain, 55 miles from home, for several years. I was out last year due to a torn Achilles so I made up for it this year. More than 600 runs this year, and I still enjoy going. The runs are challenging even thought they're rather short, and I've never felt a lack of variety. The lifts get... More

I had never been snow tubing but always wanted to go. Well the oportunity came up, talked my grandaughter in to going and off we went to Swain ski resort. For $15 for 2 hours it was fantastic. Three paths to go down, and the best part, you don't have to walk to the top. A pulley system pulls you... More
