Made a trip to the island with the purpose of visiting this memorial. What an unusual memorial, the beauty is so spectacular with the silhouette of each person that lost their life in the attack. Along the railing of the memorial are the names of...More

Its takes about 4 or five minutes to walk from the ferry along the the water front to stop by and pay your respects to those who paid the price on 9/11. Lets not forget that freedom isn't free.

Connected to the Staten Island Ferry terminal by a stairway (or accessible ramp), this is a perfect place to remember what we saw on that day the United States was attacked. While the World Trade Center burned, then collapsed, hundreds of people watched in shock...More

Worth a visit if going to Staten Island on the ferry. Just a short walk from the ferry terminal is this small memorial to the 9/11 tragedy. Two large white "wings" form a beautiful view of the lower Manhattan skyline. Gazing through the wings -...More

If you stand or sit in middle of the two walls, you get a feeling of flight over the harbor-as if the walls have become wings.

If you arrive on Staten Island just because you took the Ferry for the Manhattan views then don't just get the return boat. The boats are every 30 mins so take a walk out of the right hand doors and head along the shore line...More

This memorial is a somber and creative tribute to Staten Islanders lost on 9/11 and will soon include first responders from the island who died later as a result of their heroics that day. It's windy, so be prepared for that. Beautiful spot.

The sculptural impact of this memorial made it very moving for both of us. The names of the victims and the view of Manhattan combined in a very meaningful way to bring that terrible day back to life.

During contruction, the best places to park are the Staten Island Ferry parking lot (Free on Sundays) or the courthouse parking garage located at 54 Central Avenue.
