I spent the day at the St. George Theatre yesterday, and it was a great day. The SGT is a historic theater built I 1925 for vaudeville and movies. The original decor and fixtures, long gone in most of these types of venues are all still there and intact. Visiting the STG is like being immersed in a work of... More

We attended the Happy Together Tour at the Saint George Theatre on June 21. The theatre had been restored to its former beauty after tears of neglect. The owners, Luanne and Doreen, have done a spectacular job in their efforts to revive this Island treasure. The concert was great and the stage us awesome. Staten Islanders should support this renowned... More

I went to see Ringo Starr and the All-Stars and I was very disappointed in the quality of sound. Maybe it was the sound technicians or perhaps it was the acoustics of the place I don't know. What the place needs is to check the seats (mine was broken) and install a handrail in the middle of the stairs in... More

The show Live From Nashville, that we saw at the St. George Theater on Staten Island, featured very talented performers. The show became a bit repetitious after a while. Would have liked to have heard some songs by the very famous artists, George Jones, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings. That would have added more of a... More

We had come to the Island to visit the Alice Austen House, found the excellent Rispoli Pastry Shop for lunch and then met a friendly and helpful resident who gave us some excellent background to the history of the area. We were standing outside the rather underwhelming exterior of the theatre and it was on his recommendation that we entered,... More

Wanting to see something of Staten Island but not sure what we wandered off the ferry aimlessly. Stumbling across this gem was the best thing that could have happened on my husband's birthday. The wonderful receptionist took us for a tour of the ornate interior which should really be on any guided your of the Art Deco period. Elaborate in... More

The outside of this theatre is pretty unprepossessing, and gives no hint of the stunning interior. Yes, it's a little tired in places; but it's clearly much loved by the owners, who are slowly but surely renovating the place. Go see it!

I purchased 2 tickets to see Shrek on the website and no where on the site did it state that it was a kids show. I then received a flyer in the mail and an email which then stated that it was indeed a children's show. I purchased the tickets for two adults. When I called the box office to... More

We attended the Memories of Frank Sinatra show on Saturday, October 3, 2015. The ad for this venue stated: "Featuring a 40 piece orchestra with Sinatra's pianist Vincent Falcone, Jr., as well as, many musicians who have formally played with Frank Sinatra. Also stated in the ad was that "There would be displayed a marvelous array of Sinatra memorabilia to... More
